lol I added that in hopes more people would understand what it was.
I have not yet been to Berlin at all. It is common for kids in the 7th or 8th grade to go there with their class, but I did not want to go if I remember correctly. Two of my friends went to Berlin about two years ago because they were invited by the Bundeskanzler (or on his behalf) for winning a competition about young people running projects that provide value to all the people living in their respective cities. They went to ASI and the Dog ■■■■ Park and sent me some clips of them skating and fingerboarding there.
I have to say, I bought a few starter setups earlier this year but I highly recommend spending more for a good starter pro setup. I’m sure whatever Charlie recommended is good, but I love my Obsius complete. Their board designs are a little different (egg shape, low kicks - I love it), they have some of the most fantastic graphics that I’ve seen on any fingerboards. Some people think their trucks are heavy but I think they’re awesome. I felt there was really great value with this setup. I just recommend making your own bushings - I punch them out of a popper fidget toy. But the stock bushings are also fine.
Overall the fit and finish on this board blew me away, and I’m pretty picky about stuff like that.
It’s astounding to me how accurate the trucks, axles , and wheels are on these higher end boards. I had only ever seen Tech Decks before and hadn’t really given them that much attention, but these guys are nuts.
Even the bushing and wheels have different durometers to choose from. And wheels can be made from urethane or plastic depending on preferences.
Ngl Fingerboard is sick, I do love to watch content on Instagram and videos on Youtube (as I was saying in the mail topic), it feels nice to see tricks closed and also to see them all make sense, also ngl I love to see huge fingerboard collections ahahah I seen couple of videos around.
If you have a collection please post, I am not able to start fingerboarding cause I have quite a bad wrist prone to get carpal tunnel (luckily yoyoing doesn’t give me any issue at all) but fingerboarding seems uber fun!
That’s the one issue I worry about. My hands and wrists are a mess.
I’m still gonna give it a shot!
Not sure if it can be an issue but already looking at how they move the finger and how they position the wrist make me think for the worst. Yoyo in the other hand is amazing for those issue, is kind of you train your wrist and is very safe to use
I think I’m about to go down a DEEP rabbit hole.
I found molds for creating obstacles. I already have dental stone for use in creating Dungeons & Dragons tiles, etc…
Now. Do I actually make my own obstacles, or purchase pre-made ones?
Honestly the blackriver and brisk builds stuff is really nice. I’ve been wanting to get a silicon mold for quarter pipes and jersey barriers. Would be so fun to make those and epoxy them around town.
It might not be the biggest collection, but it has bit of everything, from limited edition stuff to some oddballs and my EDCs. (I forgot to add a simple blackriver set up to the photo, but thats about everything I have).
Love seein the Hana and Sorry. So-Cal represent.
Here’s my very first-ever fingerboard! I did a hack job on the grip tape…
Deck: Chicken (@GnarlyCharlie)
Trucks: Broken Nuckle P-REP 34mm SOLID Trucks
Wheels: Teak Tuning CNC Polyurethane Wheels
Heck yeah! Send me a clip of you gettin’ an ollie and kickflip!
You can totally clean the edges up on that tape! Do you have a nail file?
Well Crap!
Now I want to do this too.
Yeah everyone is making me want to get a real fingerboard. I never got passed tech decks but I got pretty good with a tech deck. Haha. These new ones look waayyyy better.
