I own and have owned several FG CLYW throws. The vibe that’s there (if at all) is usually only enough to hear (not feel) when running a fingernail against a spinning yoyo. The absolute worst I’ve ever had was no worse than the regular vibe felt on a plastic yoyo.

You should be just fine

I only own A grades bought straight from YYE, the H5xChief is the only one that i feel is truly vibe free, if it didn’t made a sound you would not be able to tell if it is spinning or not.

Reading how Chris says he is really picky got me thinking, how can my Chief, Summit, Arctic Circle and Gnarwhal passed the vibe test and not ended up being labeled as fools gold, cause i definitely feel vibe on them, specially the Chief, straight out of the box it felt more vibey than my really really badly beat up Arctic Circle, the other ones are not that bad, but you can definitely feel the vibe at all times.

Has anyone experienced this with A grade throws? Am i just over analyzing and my throws are just fine?

You’re probably over analyzing them. I’ve never before heard anyone mention A-Grade CLYW’s having vibe. And even if they do have vibe, vibe is just soul. Rock on with the Ill Vibes!

There are many reasons why this can happen. When Chris puts together the yoyo together and tests it it is smooth. Then it is shipped from Edmonton to Amherst and then from Amherst to the consumer. In that time the yoyo can go through some changes. Also, from unscrewing and bearing change this can happen too.

All of my A grade yoyos I have ever bought have had even the smallest amounts of vibe. This can be tuned out rather easy though. Weather it is a bearing change or moving the axle around they can be fixed. Then there is that ever subjective view on smooth vs vibe… HEHE

All of my fg clyw were smooth w/ vibe on grinds. Nothing wrong with them to me. I got a hulk smash and 28 stories, which were only for ano flaws I think, so hopefully this is true

Take the price of the CLYW yoyo and divide by half(-ish) basically. So $155 A grade chief = $70 B grade FG chief.

And there are still some FG avalanches left if you are interested.

I was considering a cliff, but I’m not sure if oversized is my cup of tea so I went with the Chief! Sorry you missed out

I have never ordered from clyw before, but on their website somewhere it said it normally takes around 2 week I think for the US.

Almost always 14 days exactly from my experience. I’ve had it take as long as 5 weeks though when it was around the Christmas / holiday season… But I don’t think that will be throwing you off this time of year

Wow didn’t know about this drop everything sold. I wish I could have pick a yoyo of my choice, the colorway are awesome. I wouldn’t worry to much about it I have a 2 FG throws and they are amazing.
