Big fan of this video, watching it got me back into yoyos.
The Sense crew is so awesome. Seeing you link that video reminded me of the Sense x Wild Mist Forest video. The cinematography on display in this video is so good. The way they splice together a single combo from two different locations of having done it, plus the way all the shots are framed. And the soundtrack really feels like it elevates this to being a bit more artistic/contemplated.
Also unrelated but Unprld has been on a roll with crazy videos for a while now, the videos for the Hash were so good. But I think this is my favorite of the recent videos from them.
Well bc you mentioned them I might as well I’ll post the hash vids here bc they’re both really good.
i love this video, shows how some people can show the flaws in certain rules
anyways, love the ending of this one
I was thinking about posting that one! A truly well-made documentary.
Other documentaries worth sharing…
As far as freestyle-esque videos:
hands down my favorite - so chill
(Anytime Evan casually throws is enjoyable, but for less casual this is hard to beat)
5A Performance - he looks so comfortable
Other:
Dylan has too much good content to choose from
Don’t even get me started on trick tutorials or reviews. I could post so many more, but I’m done.
Yeah, in their videos, clips and edits they truly show that they don’t just want to showcase their throws and tricks but that there’s an overarching artistic vision behind it all…
And also yeah, Daniel Kim has such a nice and chill but yet pretty technical flow. I especially like that there always seems to be some unexpected slack popping up out of nowhere in his tricks (To be seen pretty nicely in the second video @GTDropKnot posted above
)
Thanks for the shoutout!
If you mean me, I just started as an ERP sysadmin a few months ago. Before that I was directing an ops dept at a tech company. I had quit Duncan to move back to the west coast to be with my now-wife.
Still yoyo (and been working on new tricks for a video!) but life is busy between work and a baby.
Filmed this video on my 14th floor balcony in Cleveland during the winter. It was like 15 degrees outside. Had a 5A MG fall off the balcony too! Great memories.
Anyway, thanks again for the love!
I really didn’t expect you to answer the question yourself — that was a great surprise! Of course I totally understand… family and work come first.
Glad to hear you’re doing well and still into yoyoing. I’m looking forward to any new videos you might post. Very cool!
I actually came across your name through @GTDropKnot `s post in the Trick a Week thread, where the trick Fashism was featured. I can only do about half of it so far, but I keep practicing it now and then.
Great to hear from you, and all the best to you!
Like I said, I’m excited for any new videos
