I’ve tried:
Several Sovereigns,
a couple of Ti Walkers,
a ****Runner,
a Ti Peak,
and an Evora
It’s rather hard to choose. If I had to pick from a pure ‘fun to throw’ standpoint, I’d probably say the Ti Walker. But the Evora has a ton of power behind it because of that monstrous rim weight and it’s the only yoyo I’ve sparked in three countries.
I bought a Citizen when they first dropped from OD back in the day - I believe it was #33 but not sure. That’s a bitter sale, but I needed the scratch back in the day. I didn’t have it for long (but I did spark it!). I also had a TYY-01 that I traded as I just didn’t play it much. Currently I have Ti Shutter, Ti Dream (in blue and natural), Spaceship, Drunner, Ti Hawk and a beautiful TiGer anno’d by Ryan Elliot.
Playwise I’d say the Drunner and the TiGer are my favorites. TiGer is a really beautiful organic with a nice little step in there - fun little IRG and a very nice quality on the string. More laid back for sure. Drunner is everything people say so I can’t wait for the Vayder. TiHawk is VERY close but is just the tiniest bit grippy on response - I’m guessing that could be mitigated with recess silicone job but it doesn’t bug me enough to change, just enough to edge it out of the top slot. VERY close though.
Spaceship gets honorable mention for best sound of the bunch - an oscillating ringing tone throughout play that sounds quite alien.
let me know if you ever decide on letting the spaceship go

How do you like the Sovereign?
A fun throw no doubt, but they’re pretty small and the design is fairly dated by today’s standards. Spectacular pocket player, though.

I have the 000, bowl, spaceship and at first felt the 000 played better, then after throwing the bowl found it to maybe have an edge. It is not exactly a grail either, yes similar no doubt. All good players and fun IMO.
The Spaceship is an entirely different animal. Shaped like the 420, plays amazing for me.
I also found a great ceramic bearing that made them all play even better for my style and strings.
But we all have our own ideas and styles and strings so what is excellent for me can be mediocre for you.
But tomorrow is National yoyo day so be sure to throw whatever you have and or whatever you like!!
I like the sovereign since it is almost a ti Hattrick.
The hattrick was one of the first yoyo’s I saw when I just got started about 10 yrs ago.
I still pick up the Hattrick more.
I saw that ano job is amazing. Ryan does excellent work.
I agree the TiGer is very underrated IMO.

The gold one doesn’t do it for me for some reason.
I snagged mine used, but fortunately it was in excellent condition.
There’s a deal in the works. But not yet. It’s a contest to see which I’ll score first the TinMan or a death robot. My two favorite yoyo metals.
