Entertainment Center color choice dilemma

Howdy all…

I need a new entertainment center…badly.

After much Googling around I found one that has the perfect set up that Im looking for. Its the right size and has both doors and drawers and its made of real wood…not cheepy Ikea press board…stuff. Its just what Im looking for.

Here it is:

So the dilemma is that it comes in a few colors and Ive been flip flopping for 2 weeks now on which one to choose. As you can see from the price…its an investment so I dont want to mess it up.

The color choices are: Black; White; Tobacco Brown; Distressed Gray; Rustic Natural Aged Brown; Farmhouse gray; Russet Brown.

My thoughts so far are: Its made of real wood so why not show off the grain…thus black and white are out. Tobacco Brown is too dark. Aged and Russet Brown look to…well…dated.

So that leaves Distressed Gray and Farmhouse Gray. But maybe Distressed Gray looks to worn…and Im not really able to get a solid idea on what Farmhouse Gray looks like from the images, even after zooming in on the image. Yah, probably if I dont like one I can send it back and get the other but I dont really wanna go through all the return ship of a very heavy object and all that.

Soo…I thought I’d put out the dilemma and see what cha all think.

If you click on the color names on the right, the image color on the left changes.

Soooo…please advise.

Thanks much.

I think I would go with farmhouse gray out of those two grays, I think the tobacco one might look really nice in better lighting than the photo but it’s hard to say

Frankly, I like this one.

The color finishes are used because there is so little grain in the wood it is made of, that the heavy pigment hides the fact that the wood is not attractive. So you want to go with a color that you like. You’re not really going to see wood grain.

Thank you for your input all. I did settle on Farmhouse Gray. Interesting reply @archiesdad . The advert only said " crafted from top-tier solid wood “…but doesnt specifically say what kind of wood. I know its not press board though as I learned that is refereed to as " engineered wood”
