It’s the same trick, except in the tutorial, the person starts with two strings (which does not seem to match up with the  trick you wanted to learn). In the video you have, the guy catches that string during the whip and then finishes Satoshi Tower. It actually is the same trick, the person in your video just took out a step and did it in midair.
