Asora test type 2 is straight up amazing. And it is very very fun. I highly agree with what u said in the blog the more u play it the funner it gets. If I can make a suggestion if fun is ur primary objective for the v.3 as well? I would suggest going one mm higher for the diameter. From 57 to 58. Honestly the one I say to myself everytime I throw is that I wish it was just a tiny bit bigger. Big organic yo-yos are fun. And asora fills a gap quite nicely slightly over sized and slightly slimish. I think if it was 58 thatās just perfect where itās not too much bigger than normal full size and not quite super over sized just barely oversized. But if it was 58 it would be game over. Fun factor x100. I think about how much fun it is to throw my wizard and the reason I constantly reach for it is nice oversized organic feels just amazing bouncing off the string. And the asora gives me that same feeling but itās awesome cuz itās different with the slimmer design but just lacking that 1mm would set it over the top. Anyway weāll done you did awesome I canāt wait for version 3 and for the record asora is definitely considered a favorite

Right now Asora is 57.5mm, the planned reduction is taking .30mm off, so 57.2mm
I think that I actually would like the throw to be larger, but Iām working within so many constraints that balancing them all is just not possible to have it all. Ideally, this throw would be 59-60mm if I could live in a perfect world.
The issue with all of that is where the weight goes when you go up in diameter, and where I want the weight to go based on how I want Asora to perform. Going up in diameter means that at the same weight, Asora would likely become more unstable - though this would also increase that sort of floaty or light feel to the throw. Give and take 
The biggest problem I face is having the throw be at 61g~ so that with caps, itās at 66g~ With Aluminum caps it hits 74g~.
I donāt want the throw to be too heavy with caps. I really want it to be fun with any setup you choose and why Iām restricted to the current weight I have set. Bigger diameter either means more weight to replace the weight I lose from going smaller, or the same weight and less performance. If I pushed the diameter up I would be forced to make the throw heavier to achieve the performance I want.
Though, all that being said. I do want to do a small run of 60mm version Asoraās in the future. I fully agree with you on a larger organic throw being really fun, itās just that for my current goal I have to kind of balance all of these design queues along with the performance and feel of the yoyo. After that, I can kind of mess around, design a bimetal Asora, and maybe a hybrid or something, idk really, anything is possible.

Oh yeah I definitely get it. I havenāt designed a Yoyo yet so things like donāt dawn on me automatically yet. But it makes total sense. If you decide on the 60mm short run count me in for the presale! Iāll be lined up for asora 3 regardless as well
Oh baby!!! I love my type 2! It is easily in my top 5. But when I received it, my initial thoughts were:
- I wish it was a teensy bit smaller in diameter
- I wish it had a schmoove

No release date yet, just wanted to give everyone an idea of what changes I made and hear out any suggestions or opinions on the design from people who played it. Iām still very much open to hearing any opinions from people and implementing those suggestions if they help Asoraās design goal. Planning to get them ordered soon though.

Update!
Itās been a little while, but Iāve been working on the art and other stuff involving Asora to prepare for the next versionās drop.
Asora 03 just landed and I wanted to update and share a sneak peak at what Iāve been working on along with the colorways I chose.
I am intentionally designing each yoyo I design to have itās own distinctive colorway corresponding to the character.
Asora is pink, for multiple reasons, as a homage to the Free Rider, itās my favorite color aside from black, andā¦ This color also relates to a manga character from a while back called Sukeban Deka. The character is a misfit who uses her yoyo as a weapon while fighting crime for the police. Itās kinda outrageous, but I always found it endearing and funny. My character is definitely loosely based off of her, but this is why Pink is so heavily used for Asora.
They even made live action series for it too.
Even though Asoraās primary colorway is Pink, I wanted to get more colorways this time to allow people who may not like Pink, to hopefully snag a color they personally like. I also intentionally chose a color palette where all of the colors would match up well so that you could potentially trade eachother to make halfswaps. (fluchs / bape naturally)
I say hopefully because I canāt obviously pick everyoneās favorite color, but I think I did a pretty good job. The Black versions are not blasted to add a bit of uniqueness to one of the colorways.
Each colorway will have itās own gemstone SE, but under it will be a clear Micro cap.
All of them have an engraving ādreamcraft - asora - 2024ā on the response area to help identify it. Iām personally not a fan of engraving yoyos, I think itās really hard to get engraving right from an aesthetic point on yoyos. I do want to experiment with it in the future, but as for actually labeling the yoyos in the future, this will be a permanent feature with all designs moving forward.
Iām really excited for this one. I plan to write up a blog post going over the design and more of the concepts for it, but need time to play it and analyze it. So far, all i can say is that it is ābetterā than 01 and 02. Iāll explain it better in the blog, but itās just flat out better.
Thereās still a lot to work on and get done before itās ready, since they all need to be siliconed, assembled, packaged, with all of the other art stuff needing to be finished as well. The plan is to have them ready by worlds, Iāll continue to update as we go along.
Sagane is not here yet. Due to the difficulty of the design, it takes longer for the machine to debug the CAD file to precisely manufacture it. I wouldāve liked to get Sagane first to be honest with you, since people have already pre-ordered it, but I trust in FPM and their process - I know that they need time to make sure Sagane comes out perfect, and exactly how I designed it.

The half swap potential is great with those colors, but idk what could beat the OG pink.
100% agree (totally biased) and this pink, hard to see, came out better than the first two. Your eye will tell, but itās hard to capture on camera. It just āpopsā more, like better saturation.

I had brass domes in my Asora 2 forever. They look soooo good imo. But I just switched to AL micro caps and itās kinda crazy how much the play is changed. I canāt decide which play I like more. Itās hard to beat the look of the brass domes though.

i really enjoy good engravings but i get what ur saying about the difficulty. ive really liked the ones Iāve seen with engraving in the catch zone/inside area (was it one of docpopās, the red one with words inside?) so Iām interested to see if/what you attempt in the future. these look amazing though and theyll be dropping just in time for one july to be wrappping up
