How much would gold plating cost? That would be sickk

Iā€™m really not sure on the pricing - or even if the future shop I choose will be able to do Gold plating.

The gold one above had an amount of vibe that even me, someone who plays with vibey old yoyojams couldnā€™t look past.

Ideally, Iā€™d like to get Asora in as many finishes/coatings/colors as possible. I just think thatā€™s part of the fun of a good yoyo design. A bit of plating can drastically change how it feels or performs to add another layer of flavor.

I was just assuming the process is pretty similar, but there must be a reason we donā€™t see it too often? Could just be not very durable.

I think all of the plating I recieved was extremely durable, but I think that also lies in the fact the plating was far too thick/not uniform enough, which increased vibe enough to make it unplayable, and certainly not something I could sell unless you wanted a trophy.

The process for gold is one extra step from my understanding. I believe you can plate both copper and nickel directly to Aluminum, but you need a layer of Nickel / Zinc before you can gold plate onto aluminum. This in my mind, would increase the chance for vibe. So I think the reason we donā€™t see it very often is because of that extra layer which can probably induce more vibe than allowable.

The pre-orders ended in April and I received them / sent them out in September - so theyā€™re out in the wild now.
