I have heard a lot of people say that string does not matter.
So I tried a few throws without it, My Northstar went under the TV every time…
Seriously though, I say yes.
There are differences of thickness and stiffness that can make a string act differently.
I like GStrings for most play, they are good all round, in my opinion.
I am planning on trying some of the other brands too, Chaos is up next.
You should try things for yourself, find what suits you.

the thing is, some people don’t have the sensitivity to appreciate what different strings bring to the table and are perfectly satisfied with your standard poly stuff
that being said, the strings is a matter of personal preference, looks & feel. I find different throws perform different with different strings, response wise at least.
oh and the websites that sell graou strings usually sell yoyos too
there is no official graou string shop, although you can probably get them from the xcube website too
I prefer HAMSTRINGS. They make them of Kevlar too.
