i was throwing in firestone getting a tire changed and after a while when i took a break a woman approached me and told me she had been watching and was amazed and started asking me lots of questions. we chatted for a while and when we parted she told me she thought i was amazing and that i had made her day. it’s nice when ppl give the good feels back. I’ve never had anyone be negative but even if i did, experiences like today make it worth it :call_me_hand::victory_hand::vulcan_salute:

I often yoyo at the local food pantry where I volunteer. I help load food into patron’s cars. While I wait I just throw around. A few individuals have commented and they were impressed with the couple tricks I knew. It’s always heartening to know I made their day. It’s part of being a missionary, after all.

Thats awsome, I’m hoping to be able to bring some throws on my misson that’s coming up, yoyoing always seems to bring up peoples spirits and it’s fun to bring that to other people

I’m the only service missionary who throws in my area, but there are at least 2 teaching missionaries who throw. They aren’t able to do it often though, because they’re teaching lol

That’s awesome, I’m hoping its not going to be an issue to bring a case of like 8 throws while I’m out on mine

One I know has at least 5. Just know you’ll probably have a hard time maintaining them.

I was buying socks yesterday and the girl ringing me up pointed at my yoyo and asked if I knew any cool tricks. I was like ā€œyou know itā€ and ran through some autopilot combos and did a sky bind and she was all excited and said I made her day. I love yoyoing out in public.

Don’t worry too much. To give you an idea one missionary came over with his companion and he brought a HiDRA, an Edge and a Turntable 2. Just know that on a mission, yoyos do not come first or even second.

A security associate at my job saw me throwing some stalls and planet hops with my SB2 and asked if it can sleep. I threw a sleeper and he was delighted.

Early on in my current yoyo phase (probably 2021 or 2022) I was yoyoing at one of my favorite restaurants while waiting for a take-out order. Someone came up to me and started talking yoyo. Turns out his father was a demonstrator and he could yoyo a bit. I think I even got his number and sent a text or two back and forth, but I never got the invite to meet his dad or anything.

I love this! Yet another indication that yo-yo people are good people. My partner and I work here with the Alameda food bank.

I’m just greateful that yo-yoing is another tool in my missionary arsenal.
It’s been a replacement, a conversation starter, and a challenge all at the same time

We gotta evangelize! Share the yo-yo love. Get people interested, anyone who walks up and seems into it.. engage them.

I keep a butterfly in my bag specifically to give away to anyone who is remotely interested. I stock up when Target has em in the bargain bins for 3 bucks :+1::+1:

In college I would yoyo a fair bit on the way to classes. My leather yoyo holster would get students giggling, but some people were interested in the actual yoyoing :joy:

I should start bringing a yoyo out and about with me again.
