Well, Both are designed for grinds. However, the Dark Magic is easier for thumb grinds while the X-con is better for stalls.
ok, for one, can’t the dm be re-started like that as well? and why would you have a dead yoyo that you need to restart anyway?
As you can see in the video, JD makes that part of his tricks. And the DM can be restarted like that aswell. Quote form yoyoexpert:

Well, the thing is the pictures aren’t made to compare size. You can see that all yo-yos, despite the fact that some are bigger than others, generally have approximately the same width and diameter in the pictures.
