If you’ve got one in hand and have played for a few days, what do you think? And how does it compare to v2 and v1, if you’ve played those, or other comparable Alu responsives?
My review is simple, but I am super biased .. this is the single best Alu C bearing responsive I’ve ever played, by far. The other two entries (Deep, Deeper) have their place, but overall as an all-around responsive, to me this is the peak by a wide margin…
What’s your setup? Throwing w/ a greasebucket?
It’s been in my pocket or on my finger since it’s arrived, it’s been great!
I also must note the included yysl string is incredibly comfortable, I love it.
Overall my first impressions are that this is the perfect edc responsive for me, that I didn’t know I was looking for!
It’s light, it’s comfortable, durable, plays well fast or slow, stalls but also handles layers with a thin string, and is overall a satisfying YoYo to play with. I do find the energy domes detract from comfort but I run them for the vibe of the project, and Devo rules.
If I were to pick up another I would go for splash halfswap, a pair of these with grease buckets would be a super fun looping pair, as I can loop this one with ease on the stock bearing and string.
It’s hard to believe it’s a standard c bearing, it’s an engineering feat for sure.
I’m anxiously waiting for mine, have been playing with the OG and Deeper this past week. Both are fantastic throws while the Deeper’s a bit larger/wider…but lacks side effects. Planning on throwing spikes on my Deepest, will be my ideal setup with the ability to mess with pull starts and do responsive DNAs (which are far more fun than the typical unresponsive tiktok DNA).
I sadly was sleeping on the one. Need to do some work to get it in hand. Stay gold, Yo!
Just landed a kickflip on it not too long ago, and now that I try filming I can’t land it again lol, it’s a really fun YoYo to noodle with tho.
@codinghorror where to get more stay gold string? Will they be making more for wider release? Whatever this blend is kinda rules lol
I think it’s the nytro blend from yysl. They have some on YYE just not the gold color
I have Nytro, it feels a bit different imo, maybe I’m wrong tho lol.
It doesn’t seems to get as shaggy as quickly.
Either way, I love the color of it and wouldn’t mind having a large bundle of it haha

It is regular Nytro so any of that type will be the same! Nytro+ is fatter still. cc @MattB

So I was able to play the lighter proto about a month ago, and I just got my spacious skies today, and I also agree that this plays way better. I’ve played all three states, and in the order of how I liked them, deeper was my least favorite, deep was my 2nd, and this is by far the best. Didn’t like the catch of the deeper, it was not comfortable to me, and with it being a responsive, comfort is key for me, as you are catching it a lot. The pads slightly protrude in the gap, which really helps with the response. I’ve been only jamming with the greasebucket and the thick Nytro string, haven’t done any other setup, but I’m not thinking of changing it at all. Feels really good. I’ll try the OT wild string eventually as it’s my bulk string right now, but I’m sure it’s going to be forgiving and responsive with any thicker variety of string. I’ve done the modified modern responsives PIF, and I really liked those, but this plays so well as is, I’m really enjoying it.
