go to the dollar store buy a cheap pair of pliers. get some locktight. take the bearing out put locktight on the axle. put the pliers on it leave for 2-3 min. make sure the pliers are STUCK. take a hammer and beats on the pliers. that should get it out it did 4 me when my stripped axle on my DM wouldnt come out hope this helped
Lets try a safe solution:
- Find two nuts that screw on tightly on the axle.
- Screw the 1st nut about halfway through the axle. (Use pliers or something similar for the screwing so that you can grip the nut well)
- Screw the 2nd nut until it reaches the 1st one, then make sure to really tighten it on top of the 1st nut.
- Grip both nuts together at the same time, and move them as if you’re trying to screw them off. If you did the previous steps correctly it should start getting removed from the yoyo hub when you screw it apart.
- To remove the nuts you now have, just grip onto the nut on top and screw it loose, and get them off one at a time
I’m not sure if it will work if your axle is too stripped though.
I think YYJ glues their axles into one side. I could be wrong, but it would explain why they’re so hard to get out.
Try sticking the axle half in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. The cold will cause the metal to shrink a tiny bit, so it might be easier to get out.
If you’re lucky enough to have the axle’s alan wrench hole facing up, you can try using an alan wrench to get it out. Otherwise, you can try vice grips/nut method like the others have said. If you still can’t get it out, then I don’t know what to tell you.
Sorry Samad, but he did say the axle was too stripped.
I didn’t think about what new breed said. You could try that.
The axle has no threads. Bring it to a Shop or goto Sears and try out some new Vise Grips The bigger the better!
I have a solution that works for every single little YYJ in my posession! All two of 'em. OK get some vice grips. Then take some black electrical tape. Wrap the axle in the electrical tape. Then take the vice grips and squeeze, man, SQUEEZE! So then you twist the vice grips counterclockwise making sure you are still SQUEEZING and it should come out. Oh yeah, and if you still can’t get it, keep everything on, just ask your dad to try. My dad had to loosen up the Speedmaker’s first axle I took out. But getting the Speeder’s first one was easy, I could do it.
P.S. GM User if this works you owe me big time! Just kidding. Putting a thank you on my post will work. Yeah, I have no thank you posts so far lol.
If thats a DK from release its how old now? I am sure yyj uses some kinda locktite in there, it looks whitish. Some are just hard to get out. Most of the time, Warming the Half in hot hot water will soften and expand things enough unless its corroded up in there. If thats your main player, I know how bad it sucks to have laying there as a paperweight.
You will get it…
Where do you live? If you possibly sent it to me I could get it out some way.
Oh, wow, I forgot to tell you.
I fixed it. The WD-40 worked.
