Current yoyo design trends

I feel as though there are too many “rules” in yoyo design. It seems as though a large number of the yoyos produced to today follow a trend and they all try to hit a mark of 56mm diameter and 65 grams thereabouts. Do you think this inhibits innovation, or is there a “standard” weight and diameter because it just works? And how does this fit in with the designing process at Luftverk?

All my yoyos are closer to 54 in dai. and 63 grams in weight.

Its whatever feels right to people I think. For me, that felt right for a lot of my yoyos. No rules - I think people often try and follow what everyone else is doing. For a lot of people 63 sounds way too light. But once they throw any of my yoyos it feels right.
