Cubing Corner

Right now I’m averaging just under two minutes (1:58.80 to be exact). Should I keep using this beginners method and get faster with it or should I go ahead and start trying to learn f2l?

round now i say f2l.

I got into it a bit earlier today just to see what it was. I got the idea of how f2l works. I’m just having a hard time spotting and sometimes making the pairs. I can do it but I actually have to think about what I’m doing lol. Takes me like 3 minutes to solve the first two layers using f2l.

I didn’t mess with it long… didn’t want to get in over my head so I just starting doing the beginners method again. haha.

are you using Badmephisto?

he is the best in almost everyone’s opinion (and mine)

I’ve fallen in love with this new cube. It’s so much better than the Rubik’s brand, I had a hard time holding it at first it was so fast.

Since I got this new cube I’m averaging 110.2s. and my best is 87.9s.

I don’t have one of those fancy speed cubing timers but I do have an iphone app that works beautifully.

I’ve used that before but for some reason after going idle for a few times my times erase.

I’m getting under 2 minutes using f2l now… still faster with the beginner’s method though.

qqtimer is better.

New time! 65.74 and averaging 99.83 now.

^
that was awesome. :o
but the unofficial record is faster. :stuck_out_tongue:

and on a different note, finally broke one minute!
I got an average of about 65 seconds, with a best time of 58.79

feliks should be beating that soon.

I was bored yesterday so i filmed myself solving my rubiks cube.
I suck.

Cool DB! We have similar skill levels.

I’m starting to get F2l a bit better now. My look ahead is improving. I get tired of having to undo moves and pull edges out so I’m finding ways to get things done in less moves.

I’m going to start learning the 2 look oll soon.

1 min 8 sec solve

I actually just got back into cubing. I average 1:xx (xx is usually between 1 and 15 seconds).

I can solve a 3x3 and a Pyraminx. I plan on getting a ShengShou 4x4 and either a Gouhong or a Dayan Zanchi 3x3 (instead of this crappy Rubik’s brand).

Right now I’m learning full PLL and OLL.

I also really want to get some more twisty puzzles. There’s such a huge variety, I want all of them! (except the extended Megaminx’s like the Teraminx and Gigaminx).

attempted cant do

got a lanlan 2x2, 4x4, and a yj 5x5
pretty fun
I haven’t timed a 5x5 solve yet but my times thus far:
2x2 : 21.92
3x3 : 42.57
4x4 : 8:27.91
5x5 : 10+ minutes?
still learning parity algorithms.

its hard tryed to finish a 4x4 fail

my recent (as in yesterday) personal best on a 3x3
