Yes, the most common mod is to silicone the O-rings or to sand it down to the dementions of a project.

Don’t forget shaving the orings down if you don’t like to deal with the whole mess that you have to deal with if you use silicone.

Though, It really isn’t that bad. Get some shims as well. Shims are always nice to have.
