Does any one know why when I throw my yyf flight it comes back and hits my hand is it me the yoyo or maybe the long string
(I’m assuming that you’re saying that the yoyo is never leaving the string before it hits you.)
Due to the small gap and usually pretty long-ish string, a 4A yoyo behaves essentially like a fixed axle until it actually leaves the string, hence why people can do shoot-the-moon with them (as can even be done on an unresponsive, though not as easily).
So if you apply any pulling pressure on the yoyo as it’s unwinding, then it’s going to wind back.
My guess would be (assuming that you’re doing a standard 4A throw), that you’re applying a downwards “pull” with your non-throwhand as the string loops under it, and since the yoyo isn’t close enough to the end of the string, it’s simply responding back.
I think that shortening the string would definately help, also make sure that the downward pressure you apply to the string with your non-throwhand is gentle and consistent. Any sharp moves or too much pressure and you’re in for a rap on the knuckles.
As always, the answer is practice. I still get it happen to me here and there when I try 4A. ![]()
Or you can use thin string . But some Times when you bind it gets stuck because the response pads haven’t worn out yet. What I used to do is use fat string that was short with worn out response pads.
