Ti ano is completely different than aluminum ano. Much less control over color and the color range is very different.
Thereās also no need to clear ano a titanium yoyo since itās so hard in the first place. That said, it would also be hard to blast a titanium yoyo in the first place since youād have to use high pressure and very hard blast media.
I bought an Oxy form the overseas store. Got free shipping. Didnāt want to risk not getting one at all, but would have preferred to buy it at YYE, as I like the idea of supporting this site.
Iām planning on getting a VSEPR and a Dazzler when they become available. I am buying the new Ti releases. As for the Ricochet, I will buy one at the next sale if there are any left. The specialness of it to me is the novelty of the sparking, and I canāt spend $200 to spark a yoyo. But I would if I got it on sale. I have also recently bid on a consulting gig. If I get that, Iāll just buy the Ricochet.
I have 2 Auroras. I love them. I wonāt sell them, but would trade one (with cash on either side as appropriate) for the right Ti from the past. A Ti Walker would be a no-brainer for me.
Anyway, there are new Tis coming out right now, and in the near future, so plenty of chances to spend some money on them.
I have already made contact with YYE, and they will have them, so Iām just waiting for the word that theyāre in. There were 20 pieces for the first run, but there is apparently a second run that YYE will get. I know what you mean about grinds, but I come more from a collector standpoint, so Iām in it just because it looks like a great limited titanium yo-yo. I will always drop that kind of dough here at YoyoExpert, just how I roll. They take good care of me, and I take good care of them too. I love this store.
You probably use a harder media. I had a conversation with The Machinist from One Drop while researching me Sovereign review and asked about a blasted finish. He said they attempted soda blasting it and the Sovereign ended up looking like it had never been touched.
Unfortunately you are incorrect. Type II anodizing for titanium is specifically used in the aerospace industry and more importantly the medical field to strengthen titanium implants specifically in the areas of corrosion and fatigue strength. Titanium is an extremely strong metal but it is not indestructible.
Part of me wishes I waited, but part of me is thrilled to have one on the way. with only 18 guaranteed to be in circulation, I am guaranteed to have one.
Iāve always thought about just using heat to change the color of my TI throw. I know with the right amount you can get an almost white color which looks awesome to me but itās all about getting it even and of course not warping it
Got my Hyperion today. Immediately went back to overseas vendor to try to buy another to find they were out of stock. Iāll definitely be looking to get at least one more when YYE gets them based on first impressions.
Get your mitts off, TotalArtist and I both got dibs (Iām guessing Stickman too) (only teasing) Glad it plays so well. I had been eyeing it, and when I finally decided that maybe I should suck it up and pull the trigger, I too found they had all gone. Ah wellā¦
I almost just bought 4 when I bought the one, figuring I could resell 3 of them MIB if I didnāt love it, but got a little gun shy, as I was buying right before heading on vacation. Now I am pretty sure Iāll want a few more of these around. If the numbers stay limited, I might be able to use some as trade bait for the earlier Tis I missed out on that interest me.
I like this one a LOT more than my aurora, my only other Ti, and I really like my aurora.
I see that the review is a favorable one, so itās definitely a go when they get to YoyoExpert. My spidey senses tell me that the Hyperion YoyoExpert gets, might be a bit different in some wayā¦engraving perhaps. I canāt wait now.
I should have bit too being how I started this thread and now feel like yye will sell out in mere minutes when Iām not aware. Lol feeling little stupid as I had one in cart on over seas site.
