Apple or Android?

I’ve stuck with Google Pixels since the Pixel 2 XL. Have a 4 XL currently that I am about to replace with rather the 8 or 9. Want the 9 but don’t think I want to spend the extra $200.

I may be wrong here for one reason or another, but I have a question

In the polling, why are Samsung and Android different categories?

All Samsung‘s are android. Shouldn’t they be in the same category?

Very true, perhaps I should amend this to apple google or Samsung or just apple or android but that would delete the votes I think.

Sony Xperia all the way. As for the newest flagships, go 1V if you want better screen resolution, go 1VI if you want some of the best battery life.

Have a 2-3 year old Samsung because that’s what my daughters family plan has. Upgrades are no longer included. Serves my needs fine* and it’s cheap. My usage is minimal - email, messaging, solitaire and angry birds are the main usages.

  • I was perfectly happy with my old Motorola flip phone, fewer distractions.

Samsung is like the big guy of android, and heavily layer their stuff over top the os. It is not a pure android experience.

That is one thing I did not like about android, it’s really inconsistent. Each brand and device have their own “version” of android, and the multiple app stores on a Samsung was honestly kinda wack. Also, even if you have this high horsepower phone, apps need to be made to run on all types of phones, including the LG Potato, so really only Samsungs goofy flashy but generally mid apps take advantage of incredibly power hardware, which is why apple gets more support. There’s like a dozen models of iPhone that are still supported, and hundreds of different android phones.

Ultimately, I wish I did not have a smart phone, but here I am, at 12:45 am on a Friday, laying in bed, composing a diatribe about iOS vs android on a YoYo forum.

I was anti apple for a long time. Just because i don’t like using Macs. I had maybe 5 android phones. Not one made it passed year 2 due to the phone it self breaking, screen shattering that kind of stuff. Never had a single phone for more then 1.5 years at most.

I’ve had my iphone 13 mini since launch and it is somehow in mint condition still. And oh yes i have dropped it. Dropped in water 3 times and concrete countless times. I’m coming up on FOUR years with this one phone. It’s incredible. My max battery life is at only 77% though… but still, the device itself is a little tank!!!

I don’t see myself getting android again. Or an iphone again since the mini line is dead now. If they ever make another mini, i’m 100% getting that. For now, it’s my mini iphone 13 for all long as possible.

Oh, and there is waaay less jank on an iphone. They just work.

Yo I LOVED my 12 mini!!! Wish they kept the line going. I will never buy an oversized “max” phone again!!!

Also, battery replacement is less than you’d think, and if you have apple care the first one is “on the house”. I think they still trying to save face over “battery-gate”

I’ve been an Android guy since the OnePlus One came out, and haven’t looked back. I’ve currently got a Pixel 8 Pro and love it. I’m also someone who likes to tweak everything, and it’s much easier on Android.

My iPhone 7 has been in the hands of 4 different family members over the last 8 years; dropped more times than I can count, into/onto more things than I may know, And there is not a flaw on this thing!
