So maybe a dumb question. But what’s the best way to brew it? I’ve heard doing it wrong can really ruin the experience is that true?
Some people say if water too hot it changes stuff like taste, etc. I don’t usually worry too much about the temp. And the longer you steep the stronger the flavor typically
I have teas i like to short steep and some i like to long steep. You’ll figure out your own preferences once you try your teas
Generally, go with more leaf and shorter steeps. Play around with it. My suggestions are based on the assumption the brewer will steep to long. These are forgiving ones.
Good rule of thumb, the darker the tea, the hotter the water:)
I used to have a gardening book like this for cultivating “tomatoes”
I feel like I shouldn’t have clicked on this. I’m always in danger of going all in another hobby at any given time
just be like me, buy, steep, drink
i pay no attention to the process and have zero consistency and tend to oversteep every time, with a random amount of tea leaves/etc thrown in every time
and it’s still good, i think the whole setup cost me under $80 (even cheaper if you don’t want to buy a kettle) and the tea i drink isnt super expensive
I usually get the caddy bundles at Tuesday morning, always go for the earl grey or chai and drink them straight
Get into Bonsai. It’s the ultimate hobby.
Especially if you’ve already gone the tea route
Don’t tempt me, I’ve already spent enough on yoyos I don’t need to spend more on soil too!
Real talk. I hate Dallas because a lot of the soil is clay and I can’t even grow sweet potatoes or Daikon in it because of it. It makes me sad.
Come to the tea side, we have delicious teas just waiting for you
Oops, I must of dropped a link for an affordable gaiwan on a website that has samples for 2 dollars or less, my bad.
Gonna make me some puerh
Ripe or unripe?
I’ve always wanted to cultivate “tomatoes” but the state seems to have a problem with that, and it sucks.
Raw.
Very nice!
I wish I could enjoy ripe puerh more, but it’s too strong of a flavor for me and all I get is soaked wood and nothing else.
That’s why I usually stick to raw since I can enjoy all the floral notes it has.
But I haven’t given up on ripe, one day I’ll find one I like!
My son calls it ‘meat tea’
Meh, you aint missing much. I find shou kinda boring, and once youve had one, youve pretty much had them all unless you get into something 20+ years old. Stick with the sheng!
Heres a nice 2009 7542 im about to open
Those teapots doe!
