I appreciate that thank you! I highly recommend the decant route, I use scent split, it really helps when learning what you like, and saves a ton of money. I blind bought for awhile and after a few burns, stopped. I have too many bottles I’ll never use.
Liam Grey is not much of my taste, it’s far sweeter than I was hoping, but the bottle is new, so still testing. It brings nothing to mind, the dry down is much better than the opening
Milestone is beautiful, it downright sparkles, a little melon at the top, which changes into the way sunlight sparkles on the ocean in the midafternoon, calming down to a sun bleached wood smell. I love this one, and own several back up bottles
Sillage I have, and wear sparingly, it’s very good, but such a distinct mood, it’s inky, cold, citrus and bluntly sophisticated. Very easy to overspray, when done moderately though it brings to my mind drinking cold water from a stream, on a mountain, after the thaw has just about finished from winter. It takes itself very seriously, leave a prominent scent trail and lasts ages. As I get older, I appreciate it more. I’d recommend it, but with caution, it’s very polarizing, if you can sample first, I would.
I had the same impression of Black Orchid as you at first, but my mind soon related it to strongly brewed black tea, near a charcuterie board, and a wild flower bouquet. And I’ve been hooked since. The chocolatey vanilla patchouli wet clean linen scent i find in the dry down is intoxicating.
Best tip I have if you’re looking to expand, social media is junk. I’ve tried so many hyped fragrances that were just awful, my bottles or Eros and flankers stand as proof. This sweet trend that the young 20s crowd seems to adore is killing me
The fragrance apprentice however is invaluable
