Never thrown any of the Peaks, but the Creep is one of the best playing organics out there.
This reminds me that I need to add the “Big Cheese” version to my ISO list…

The Overture was a sound replacement for my Peak.
Excited to see how the Peak 3 goes
I had a Pleak gifted to me as a BST add-on here, I gave it to a kid I taught to bind later on. It was cool, I found it a bit chunky but enjoyable.
I look forward to trying the Peak III whenever it comes out. People I’m sure will still say “but is just not the same” no matter what, but for me it will still be a cool organic with some good lore behind it from a company I really like.
Just happy to be here, idk lol
I’m really looking forward to this release. Mostly so I can get some printed up like the OGs.
If Caribou Lodge need some painted then let me know!
The original Peak was made in Canada. ![]()
Yes and no? The Peak 2 was an interesting learning experience for me. On the one hand, it sold better than probably any other monometal we were making at the time. It’s still one of our top sellers, looking back. But it didn’t quite deliver because we tried to fix the Peak and it turns out no one wanted it to be better, they just wanted it to be available. So we went back to formula for the P3AK and tried to decide what we wanted it to be, what y’all would want it to be, and then aimed to split the difference.
The original Peak was loved because it was fun and different and it was a step forward for what was available at the time. The tech has moved past the point where any comfy organic monometal is going to do that now, so we decided we wanted to pay fan service to the original while still moving it forward.
We started with the Plastic Peak, because Jeff absolutely nailed that and I’ve had literally dozens of people tell me “it feel more like the Peak than the Peak”. Which is a really odd but specific thing to say about it, and I decided to really take to heart what that meant. It wasn’t a clone, but it was a love letter to the original and a step forward..so that’s what the P3AK is. We had Jeff design it, because who better to provide fan service than a true fan? And because we wanted to capture that same feeling as the Plastic Peak but in metal, and Jeff was just the best person to make that happen.
I’m mapping out colorways now for the various releases and honing my airbrush skills for the handpainting. Chris got the proto a few days ago and is absolutely in love with it. More info coming later, but for now I’ll leave you with this Chris’ own words.
What was CLYWs best seller just out of curiosity?
Also airbrushed Peaks by @unklesteve sounds awesome
Not sure, honestly. It’s kind of a hard thing to look up since we’ve switched store platforms a few times now. But I know that a few years back I was digging through a bunch of sales info and I was stunned at how many Peak 2s we sold, and it was probably 2x - 3x as many as I thought. So while I wouldn’t say it won the hearts and minds of all of our fans and collectors, it sold extremely well and revisiting it recently it’s a really fun yoyo.
The Lynx is the best Peak inspired yoyo imo
I have to say I’m sad the new one is bigger, 54-55mm organics feel really good in the hand.
Ima still grab one, but I hear you. I was hoping for a closer 1:1 to feel what a peak is like play because the OG is, as we know, priced out of the hands of the plebs. And I guess that’s okay, it’s not like I “deserve” a peak or something. Some things we just can’t have, that’s life. Some old Brit’s wrote a catchy song about it one time.
It’s great that it’s gonna be a ripper, tho. I guess I’ll just have to hope to run into someone someday with one who’s willing to let me throw an OG lol.
Can’t wait to see the colors and all that!!!
Feel like buying toys again
yes
my message translate to: not china
Agreed. Not sure why they insist on “improving” the design if literally everyone wants it to be the same as the original. This looks like a pass for me.
I wasn’t a big fan of the Plastic Peak, so if this ends up being more stable than the Pleak, then my interest would be piqued. (Pun intended, lol
)
Same. I didn’t like the added body width of the plastic peak it just felt way too big to me. Hopefully it will translate a little better in metal because it won’t be as thiccccc. From the teaser photos, it does look pretty nice. I do wish it was closer to the same size as the OG peak but I’ll reserve my judgement until it’s in hand. Still exciting to see a new peak in the works and there’s talk of airbrushing also. Sounds like a win!
I didn’t like the added body width of the plastic peak
I didn’t mind that, especially as I’m a fan of the pFulvia, which is from the same mold. My quips just come from a guy who isn’t a big fan of organics.
SO, CLYW,

I have to say I’m sad the new one is bigger, 54-55mm organics feel really good in the hand.
I hate to say it, but I’m also pretty, pretty bummed it’s bigger. On one hand I reeealllyyy don’t want to be ungrateful, cause a new Peak is cool and all, and I’ll probably buy several anyways lol… but I still feel like if the goal was NOT making this new Peak better, but more available… then it seems like we missed the mark? I’m sure it’ll be a killer organic, I’m sure people will love it (myself included)… but truly how hard would it be to run the third run Peak design at a modern shop? This is what people have been asking for/wanting for probably a decade now, not anything updated. In the grand scheme of life, and even in the hobby, I know it’s really a stupid thing to complain about for sure, but perhaps we’ll SOMEDAY get the OG design, unmodified… maybe a 25th anniversary Peak perhaps?
I think I have to agree with you. I’m reminded of the TiWalker and Vayder a few years ago. People wanted more of the TiWalker arguably one of the best yoyos made, so someone decided to just make more of the them with minimal changes.
I really like the original Peak and I understand that it is an old design compared to what we have now, but isn’t that just part of the appeal? Why change it? I’d probably just modernise the response but leave the other dimensions as close to the original as possible but then again, I’m not a yoyo designer. I’m sure it will still be a fantastic throw that will honour the legacy of the Peak.
I will still of course buy several and intend to paint some myself. A new Peak is a good Peak.
Duncan also really understood the assignment with the Freehand 1. I think the End Pt. 2 is another really good example of a refresh that recaptured the original magic, and RSO/Doc Pop had to fix major issues with that design that don’t exist with the Peak and upgraded the alloy at the same time.
At the end of the day nobody is buying an organic because it’s especially performant, so I don’t get why the tweaks are necessary.
This^^
That’s what’s crazy, i love the plastic Fulvia but for some reason the peak just didn’t work for me. The performance was just the polar opposite, which was interesting given how similar they are size wise and also being from the same mold and all. I don’t think it was a factor of one being an organic and one not either. The plastic 000 out performed the peak as well. For me it was just the elongated outer hubs that didn’t work. I dono.. maybe it was how the wight was distributed, It’s hard to pinpoint exactly.
