Im kinda starting out, I know tricks like split the atom, mach 5 , (for some reason…) boingy boing, brian twister, barrel rolls, and everything before that (except for double or nothing, I dont know why I can’t do that trick) so do you have any easy combos? I already know this one I can do kinda fast: brain twister mount, do a brain twister
Do barrel roll into a split bottom mount
( i sometimes do boingy boing here…)
Do split the atom
Another barrel roll into a split bottom mount (again)
And do mach five.
Thats the combo I know, do you know any combos that I could do? Preferably easy so I can do them fast and make it look cooler… Thanks guys ;D
Check out www.YoTricks.com their Tutorials will have you doing 2x0 in no time. Honestly Double or Nothing’s, Brother Mounts, and other Side-style tricks are key to unlocking good freestyle skills. But just keep messing around w/ front style. Try learning Ripcord and Wormhole; Singapore Sling, The Zipper etc.
Learn all the mounts first! Double or nothing is an important one
Trust me man I remember being in your level and double or nothing felt very difficult to master but at some point it WILL become second nature like to the point where you can do it without looking.
So some tips for doing double or nothing is doing it slowly step by step instead of in one shot. This is so that you get a feel for how far your hands should be. So when you land it memorize where your hands are and how far apart they are.
Now I know this will come up where you wonder how to land the last part of the double or nothing without hitting the other strings. For now you can use your thumb to move the other string out of the way but basically you have to learn how to position the first wrap at the base of the non throwhand index finger then middle or the throwhand index finger to do it the real way.
Everyone is right to learn all the mounts first (1.5 was the hardest for me)
As far as my combo to help out would be in fast motion… trapeze to brother mount then the matrix to 1.5 mount then bind. thats a nice one using the mounts you will learn
good luck with the double or nothing! surely it will become 2nd nature to you! promise! with practice of course…
Double Or Nothing was one of those tricks that for me was just way too hard to do. All my advice is get your trapeze down REALLY good. It’ll help you tremendously when trying to learn the trick.
When I was learning Double-or-Nothing, I found it really helpful to learn the Houdini mount first. By putting that first loop around the thumb, you could keep the way nice and clear for that second loop to land.
Then when you get the feel for the speed and “aim”, learning regular double-or-nothing seems a lot easier!
Plus, Houdini Mount is useful for lots of other tricks, like Gondola.

I couldn’t agree more. I struggled with DorN. Just kept practicing Houdini mount and then eventually made the transition to just index fingers. Practicing the precision was key. Once I got more comfortable with DorN, it opened up rewind and matrix. Working on skin the gerbil now. Also gotta get wormhole.
Just keep at it.
You could probably learn this trick
It’s practically a combination of what you just said you learned so it probably won’t be a problem for you to learn it.
Thanks for the link, Abby! I’m probably going to learn that one for myself, too.
Ditto. Tiny boing-e-boings are the only boings I can do consistently…
Yah I learned this too so I figured Yoi guys should see it.
A couple of tricks I love playing around with on the front mount are elevator, zipper, barrel rolls, brain twister, reverse flip, and one of my favorites rock the baby on the brain scrambler ( Learn to Rock the Baby on Brain-Scrambler | ■■■■■■■■■■.com ). To be honest I’m always changing the order on these so I encourage you to learn any you don’t know, experiment, and find different routines you like. That being said I have found that doing a reverse flip into the zipper gives the yoyo added momentum making it easy to do fast. I hope this helps!
