Anno scratched off while finger spinning

I was practicing fingerspins with my Flashback, and noticed I had blue marks all over my fingernail.
I check both sides of the yoyo, and it turns out, somehow, my mail was scratching off the paint.

Has anyone experienced this?
Is there anything to do to keep more paint from chipping off?

how long are your nails :grimacing:

Yea it happens, especially with blue for some reason.

Not long at all.
That’s the weird part too, I specifically made sure my nails were short and trimmed.

I’ve had it happen with one yoyo in the thumb grind areas.

I read something about this with certain Topyo throws. I wonder what factory manufacturers the Flashback.

The iyoyo version of the pyro does this as well lol

This is quite common issue with polished annodization on 7075 aluminum. It is not about how yoyo is manufactered, it is mostly relied on annodized method. Same issue happen with YYR series back then, I got that with Sleipnir and 2012 44Clash

I’ll sometimes wipe a yoyo down with rubbing alcohol and very occasionally a yo-yo’s dye does come off. It’s rare though from my experience. Most ano’d yos seem to hold their color completely. There was a thread here about this issue a year or two ago and someone suggested boiling in distilled water to re-seal the anno (or something like that - memory isn’t great).

Yep. Normal.
