I have actually never thought of Amplified Return Tops as ART, always as Amplified Return Tops, or Amplified.
I agree here. I’ve never had a problem with the names.

Their wooden yoyos look pretty cool.
Funny that I stumble upon a thread discussing Gambit, was just thinking about him earlier when testing out a few of his tricks on my new yoyos I recently obtained, tricks I learned/picked up from his videos I had saved and hoped to see him make a return as it’s been almost a year now?
You saved the videos?!
There are some people that would really like to see those!
I was in the middle of trying to learn several of his tricks when all that went down.
I wouldn’t want to repost them without his permission, but I really would like to be able to finish learning some of his tricks.
I think that they’re maybe the best yoyo company at this time and here’s why:
No one involved with a-rt is really concerned with the interpretation of the concsuner with regards to the product that they produce. Due to this attitude, they consistently make good product and content. While a company like CLYW panders to their image of being the outdoors and rustic yoyo company and follows trends etc, a-rt will never have that probalem because it’s just two cool dudes making good yoyos and having a good time. Jensen and Charles (and Tyler) are easily some of the best yoyoers on the planet at this time, so in addition to making good content they also foster an aura of creativity and advancement of yoyoing beyond a scoring system that I think is very important for the sake of yoyoing as a whole. Since 2010, Jensen hasn’t really competed on the level that he did that year, yet his tricks are always getting better, challenging the status quo and really making people think about what yoyoing is really about.
In essence, a-rt takes yoyos and turns it into art.
kbyeeee
This
Bad blood aside, two things.
They have put out 3 metal yoyos, with a 4th on the way. And they have 6 different wooden yoyos as well. So 10 different yoyos in total over the past year. Every single one of those yoyos either sold out within the first couple hours, or lasted a day or two. Rarely ever come up for resale. Very few companies these days can say that about their product.
They have put out some of the best videos this year. All there videos are awesome in my opinion.
Their website only lists two metal and two wooden yoyos, but I’m sure you’re right.
I’m admittedly biased and haven’t been paying attention.
Any other videos I’ve missed? I really do like Chuck’s style, he’s very talented.
I would add one caveat that selling out of yoyo’s is really not uncommon at all in the industry. It’s more of a product of supply than anything else.
Off of the top of my head I’d say G2, Oh Yes Yo, and to a large extend One Drop all have throws that sell out super quick. Even Art(the real one) sells out pretty fast I think.
Most companies don’t make so many yoyos that they are going to get stuck with extra stock.
Here is there youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDtZbo4nZsm8BzUCD0YIlRg
No offense to any of those companies, they’re all great and one of them IMO is one of the greatest yoyo companies to have ever existed, but all of them you can pretty much pickup on a BST shortly after they go on sale, they get flipped. Haven’t seen that too much with a-rt. That’s what I was getting at, so far the people that are buying their yoyos LOVE them, and hang on to them. OYY is up there with them IMO also, quick to sell out and you rarely see them for sale, or you can’t pry them away from their owners. Very few companies have that.
We were talking about smoothness over on reddit regarding responsive yoyos. Take a look at the 5:31 mark of this video, Chuck hitting Enigma on a fixed axle :o
I like their yoyos.
Thanks! I had only looked at their website and missed their you tube channel.
I agree with a lot of what you and they and others said about responsiveness, I just don’t think it’s required to start out.
I throw fixed all the time and really like the change up.
Don’t think I could hit enigma on one though
That’s just crazy!
A-RT is great. Jensen has always responded to my messages very quickly and politely. I’d say his customer service skill is fine. Great yoyos. Great choice of manufacturer. Quality is quality.
I’ve been trying enigma on a fixed ever since seeing that video. Maybe one day.
Are you sure that was a fixed axle he was using there? Sure, it was responsive, but Im not so sure it was a fixed axle model.
Yeah it was fixed.
So I just checked out A-RT’s Youtube channel.
They are the first yoyo videos I’ve seen that include bad language.
I don’t want that sort of thing creeping its way into yoyo culture, so I won’t be supporting them.
That’s one reason I’ve never been a fan of theirs. The life style they espouse is a put off for me.
While I dislike it when yoyoers have videos with overly obscene lyrics because the two don’t seem to fit together, I enjoy profanity as a whole. Profanity makes yoyoing seem a little more of an all ages hobby, rather than a children’s toy. Not saying I support all ages using profanity, but rather that it would be more marketable to my generation if there were occasional swearwords used and no one makes a big deal about it.
I’m not trying to antagonize, I just thought I’d just share my differing opinion.
Both ART and a/rt seem like great companies but for each one my wallet’s a little too tight and their drops are a little to limited to get any off the BST for a good price.
