8 ball vs 10 ball?

Why are 10 balls a selling point? What exactly makes them better than 8 ball bearings?

I don’t think there’s a huge difference between 8 balls and 10 balls for the most part. The quality of One Drop 10 Balls however is higher than most bearings out there, and the fatter inner race prevents the bearing from grinding into the bearing seat.

Why did you quote that specific sentence?:face_with_monocle:

Hey just responding from my experience. 10Balls wil stay absolutely smooth for long. That’s the only difference i’ve find between 10 and 8 balls.

I asked Takeshi Matsura this same question. His response was: that “the amount of balls in a bearing does not matter.”

He said he uses NSK and the 20$ is worth it.

It’s heart of the yo-yo.

I must admit I’ve wrestled with the flat vrs concave and I’m pretty sure we have that topic licked. But you pointed out one of my favorite things about the “ten ball” it’s thicker center. That compression keeps it smooth longer.

I am morally opposed to individuals who pop the ten balls out and send them to their Sell cup of bearings. :joy:
