Absolutely LOVING my Weekender from @DocPop - it brings back my youth so hard just throwing forward pass and trying to smoothly nail simple tricks. I’ve also really been enjoying modern responsive/fixed axle playstyle - getting stalls down from trap as well as front style so I moved on to kickflip suicide. Today I’ve really been working at it (working from home is amazing) and was getting it down about 50% of the time and started trying to then land multiples in succession. I hit three and was crazy excited and then just now hit five in a row!
I’m just over here gasping by myself as each one landed past three. Had to share for no other reason than just to tell people who would understand - haha! My cat just was wondering why I was having breathing problems.
This reminds me of when I was a teen and I loved skating with all of my friends. I used to have a blast, but then they all learned the Ollie and I could never do it. This is highschool all over again. Damn you Drew and Ed, you selfish bastards and your impossible tricks.
So I’ve just been using cotton like I use for wood fixies. What would you say is the best available string for the Weekender? Tried Kitty Fat but it seemed to impact my control. Any tips on what available string might be best?
@DocPop my Weekender came with white strings. I do like playing it with Slick 6 50/50, gives a nice balance of response control and tension whippy-ness.
Same. I mean I’m not nearly on the level you are with everything else, but it feels good to know that even Dr. Popular is having a hard time with kickflips, lol.
