Anyone got a few offstring tricks on the easier side that don’t include the basic toss & catch motion? I wanted to learn a few more tricks besides barrel rolls and the basic bind, but the basic toss & catch has been KILLING me.

Getting my 180 leg orbits a bit more smoothed out and consistent! Trying to get to the point that I don’t need to take pauses before each 180 so I can make the combos more fluid but happy with the progress so far!

Not that I’m any sort of expert or anything, but I can see you smoothing up in every video. It’s obvious you are putting the work in.:+1:

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I’d like to think I’m improving day by day and I’m glad it doesn’t go unnoticed  I realized this morning that I could do a recapture during the normal leg orbits so I think I’m going to mess around with that as I get more consistent with the 180 stuff so I can make a real combo out of it and not just leg orbit, turn, leg orbit, turn.

Smoothing out some more 4A, but also the leg orbits. I really want to get these to the level of consistency I have with 1A combos so they become 2nd nature. Still have a long way to go but we’re getting there!

Leg orbits are clean as always, but I REALLY gotta appreciate those whips!

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Whips are a lot of fun and have more crossover with 1A in some ways than other 4A tricks. Once I figured that out for how I do whips they’ve become a lot more enjoyable and consistent. Hope the trick tutorial playlist has been helpful!

Thanks y’all! It was a big adjustment after growing it out for 2 years but it’s nice to have short hair again, and to find a more smooth way to do the turning leg orbits! I promise the next video will include other tricks and not only leg orbits lol, just gotta learn other tricks :joy:

This is exactly how people start their path towards doing insane things with yo-yos. An ancient toy. That’s what it is. It’s crazy to think about sometimes. It’s been around for thousands of years and people are still coming up with new tricks. Keep it up.

Nicely done! Respect for going after the neck tricks, they always stress me out but you nailed it! Since you said you weren’t sure how to end it, I wonder if there’s a way to pop it off the string at the end to catch in a different mount or to unwind the mount in a way that keeps with the momentum of the original turn? Either way you rocked it! Looking forward to seeing more of your 4A experiments!

i tried a couple pops, but cause my hands are kinda crossed / awkward it was hard to get them in a position to catch decently, but this could also be because of my beginner skill level in 4a lol

It’s all good man, we’re all learning here! I have full confidence you’ll come up with some awesome stuff

Here’s a few trick ideas I’ve been messing around with that are light years from being smooth but are fun!

Rough arm orbit variations

Neck mount hops

Definently wouldn’t say that for the second one, it was executed SO cleanly!

Thank you! I do agree the second is better, I just want to make it less choppy/awkward looking. At the moment it doesn’t really flow to the extent that I want it to and that’ll just take practice and experimenting until it’s consistent and figuring out the momentum a bit better.
