Up to 50 on my dominant hand and 20 on ol’ lefty.

Ok so 2a questions day. So every once in a while when I’m looping my yoyo will turn kinda sideways and do sort of a forward facing ufo. Is this a from my flick technique or possibly flicking to early? Feel like I do nothing different and then randomly spins out

Same here! Sometimes I can get into the rhythm and sometimes it’s a lot of mess. I think the Shu tut suggests just stopping and starting over any time it goes off the 1 o’clock.

Ok glad to hear it happens to others. I felt like I was going crazy because I would have 4-5 good loops going then all of the sudden it comes out like a forward DNA and I’m like what am I doing wrong. I guess I’ll just keep the repetition going and hope it’s something that will smooth out

Posting a video might give someone with more experience something to comment on that may be helpful. Looking at Keith’s video (or anyone looping well) and comparing to the hand motions I’m doing seems to help.

Nah this is super hard and I get like that many more or less and it’ll go off and I stop and restart and check tension sometimes you’re good I think that’s super normal

This is roughly how I practice but I do it off feeling rather than on the angle. I stop when I feel I have lost good control of the loop.

Anecdotally, I think landing in a bad angle is usually about string tension (not torsion). I find I do the best loops when the string is constantly under tension. Every now and then the throw sleeps at the end of the string and everything goes sideways. Incidentally, it helps me keep the constant tension if I loop slightly faster than I want to, which is challenging from a keeping pace perspective and an endurance perspective.

I’ve been adjusting my form for Hop the Fence/Milk the Cow and have been plagued by the throw turning sideways constantly after a very small number of iterations. I think I’m still finding my groove with my new technique.

my looping is sloppy, lots of ufos in there but i can loop a duncan butterfly inside and outside my strong hand pretty consistently without stopping. I just power through the wonky loops. switching to outside or inside loops can help recover correct yoyo angle. loops off a wonky one feels like sometimes i can adjust my hand angle/tilt to sort of correct the yoyo angle and recover faster on the next loop… not sure i can describe it that well but its also not good form. righty still is crap at doing loops.

This was helpful to hear because I’ll let myself get like one wonky loop and sometimes I can correct it and sometimes not and I lose it but I wasn’t sure if this was good or not because people always say only practice good loops. I just haven’t known if I should stop immediately or try to correct it and I’m going to try to correct it more often instead of instantly stopping and see if that help me figure out how to adjust the angle better

Thought about saving this for next Tuesday but I’m sure I’ll get more

looping on a boat is worth tossing in on a Wednesday. Wish i was out fishing right now instead of being on meetings half listening and responding when it sounds like i should probably chime in…

As much as I wish I was fishing… but atleast I’m getting paid

Gary - I need to see a picture of that Moonshine 2 I sold you a while back to make sure it is OK.

If that badboy flies off the string and the gator gets it you sure as hell better wrestle that thing from his jaws!

Anyone use Kitty FC fat on their 720s? I just put one on and the string is a little thicker than what’s on it’s sibling, but somehow doesn’t respond as quickly.

I take the shields off of my 720 bearings. There should be a c-clip, it’s just insanely tiny. I use a razor blade to try and pry it up. If I can’t, I break the shield with the razor and bend it out.

Was late for Tuesday but here was some random messing around

That’s awesome. I love the move where both throws alternate inside and outside moving the same direction. It feels like snapping side to side. I’ve tried to do it but lack the skills so far.

Edit: it turns out this element is now within my skill set!
