Thanks!
Iād go blast just because I hate gold, lol. Took me a minute to find a pair Iād like in stock though. Colors at each store are kind of all over the place, and I didnāt want to split the shipment.
Almost went with green and purple Initiators until I remembered the last store I didnāt check.
The Sochi Loop Spinner comes with the string they used to test drive it. It is a little shorter than their normal Loop String that I had previously thought was perfect. The shorter string is awesome. It is my go-to now.
Do you know the length? Iāve been using 30-31inchs tip to tip on my Loop720
Iāve decided to join the looping club. Got some Loop 720s and C3 Initiators and using 75cm string.
Weāre proud to have you. Weāre a small dedicated group of borderline competent throwers and a World Champion getting a little better every day. Or at least every Tuesday.
I never even process when itās Tuesday but I feel like Iāve been playing a good amount of 2A this year, at least enough to be slowly improving. Iāve got clean simultaneous/alternating basic inside/outside loops down with both hands. But other than warp drive and the most basic forearm wrap (only with my right hand lol) I have like no 2A tricks oops. I should watch some 2A tutorials.
It is 28.75" (73cm) to the knot and 30" OAL. I got a C3 Initiator on the same day as the Loop Spinner. I wasnāt sure which box the string came out of but in the description of the Initiator it says they are assembled and tested by āC3ās team of champions including Ryo Yamashita & Yamato Fujiwaraā so I figured it was them. When I saw it was shorter I thought I had discovered something special. That may influence my opinion but that is what I play.
One of us! One of us!
I really gotta start working on my off hand. got inside outside alternating loops pretty well on my left, a bit sloppy form but can get past 50 loops and occasionally can warpdrive . Was able to get maybe 15 inside loops offhand the last time i triedā¦but that was months ago.
Helloā¦I know itās not yet Tuesday, but I have been very loop curious lately and would like to start working on my basic loops. I havenāt done any regens since before I could trapeze, besides the single ones in 1a that come naturally but this seems like a different beast. I have a butterfly xt , a yyf confusion that looks half swapped, a yomega fireball, and a yyf legend oval guy. Which of these 4 will be easiest to learn on? Iāve been hesitant to cut the strings short but Iām readyā¦I got this Duncan basics book thatās got some good info in it, but Iām also interested in hearing if anyone has any things to watch out for when getting started. Thanks
Edit:also when should I start trying both hands I have literally zero loops with either hand so I figure one at a time would be best to start.
Fireball is your best bet, but if you prefer fixed axle you could do the Imperial shaped Legend. The Imperial style shape is better for looping than the Butterfly shape. That said, Iād be afraid to attempt looping with a Confusion as Iām sure Iād knock out a tooth or give myself a concussion.
The short string helps a lot. I would highly recommend doing it. Get a bunch of cheaper string for looping. Most bulk poly works.
Itās best to get a trick consistent with both hands individually before trying the two handed variation. Thereās lots of 2a practice that is just one handed with either hand. If you want to jump right into two handed, itās best to have two of the same throw (two Fireballs would do) and just start out simple with two handed forward passes or around the worlds, both synchronized and not.
Tips: for me, 2A has been a grind. Iāve progressed, but the path is slow and filled with many repetitive things. I find it rewarding, but you do need to stick with it to get better. Iām on a break from 2A while Iāve been on vacation this week (it would drive my wife nuts in our hotel room) and canāt wait to get back to it.
Okay cool thanks because I started trying this with the confusion first and I donāt want to mess up my smile. Phew no damage done yet. Iāll probably get a pair soon because Iām kind of getting it and It seems fun. Is there anything I should think about when I do get a pair or just grab some they all seem around the same price do you have a recommendation
I throw Loop 720s with the Sunrise bearing kit as my primaries. I have a pair of hornets that are currently out of action and my Loop 720s came stock with red spacers. They all work and work well.
If you want the Loop 720 with Sunrise bearing kit, itās cheaper to buy the Match. If you donāt care, the Loop 720 is great as is.
There are a bunch of options but, like 1A throws, you need to get a feel for looping and see what you like. Iād recommend just getting whatever you like the look of most, or just get a second Fireball to round out your existing set and save a little $$$.
Ive been looping duncan butterflies but im weird. I got a pair of loop 720s to dabble with 2a looping. My off hand is terrible.
I can and do loop Butterflies with my dominant hand, but I find the Imperial shape significantly easier to turn over reliably when I loop.
Awesome Iām going to just get a pair here to support yye and because I also want to buy some dirt cheap plastic responsive yo-yos and string and need to hit that 50$ free delivery lol The fireball feels weird to me like it sleeps too long or I canāt figure out the response. I also havenāt spent much time with that one and Iām into the grandpa vibes with this legendā¦probably going to use this one for a whileā¦Thanks yāall! Be back Tuesday
2A can be a bit maintenance heavy. Hereās a good tutorial on setup:
I think the Fireball can be a bit temperamental as far as response goes, but hereās a little Fireball inspo I saw recently on IG anyway:
Bah this was long but necessary thank you Iāll try some fatter strings and see if the fireball feels betterā¦it has such a cool name
