Seriously. The sites that sell Elton John and Motley Crew tickets have SO much money to spend on server space, etc. While it may seem big, this is still a small site really and they beefed up their servers before the sale based on last year’s traffic. Um… the traffic was CRAZY worse than last year. They spent every free moment on the phone trying to get everything cleared up. Get over yourself.
Considering that we just spent 3 hours, devoted just to getting this box, but they are sold out, is rediculous. The worst part is we waited 3 hours for nothing. You, on the other hand, got a box.
Hey, I was shooting for the box, and yes, I was being greedy and trying to buy two, because I was allowed to try to do it. I ended up with two bags, still not bad. I think some of the anger is harsh, because at the stores in the morning, people will be lined up for black Friday sales, some will run in the front door and get the deals, others will run in and for some reason, not get what they expected. Whether it’s a storefront or an online store, that buildup, stress and frustration is what it is all about with after Thanksgiving sales. While some of you wish it could be more fun, I could care less, I was trying to get a bargain and double up at that…I could care less about it being quick and fun. I was in it for the long haul. It was posted right on the blog that there was “luck” involved in getting anything at all, and it was true, so we were not promised a thing by being online at the end of the countdown. I was at checkout within one minute like some of you, and booted out, but at the end of the day, we overloaded the servers. People were logged on with cell phones, simultaneous to having multiple web browsers going, and multiple windows within those browsers. It was our own greed creating the chaos. I actually think it is kind of funny. I think it was a success. Besides, I’m still awake to do the rest of my shopping on YYE. Some of us ran through the front door of the store, had a map where the items were we wanted, but it did not pan out. It will happen to thousands in the morning. Good job YoyoExpert and YoyoFactory, it was a nail biter, and I still got a deal…thanks
I have a question. In a thread from a couple weeks ago it was said that there is one golden box with $500 of stuff in it. I didn’t see anything about it in the description, so is this true or not?
Is anyone else still on or has everyone gone to bed? I’ve got school in an hour and a half and for people who still don’t have their mystery bags ordered, they’ve run out. And has anyone noticed how the pages on the mystery box and bags say that they’re ‘EXTREMELY LIMITED.’ I don’t blame YYE either because let’s admit it, nobody expected this to happen.
If it’s so difficult that there’s luck involved, don’t let people buy 2. Pretty much basic logic went right out the window there. Yeah, let’s have twice as many unhappy customers! Brilliant! And the payoff is successful customers who really couldn’t care less about their second box unless it happens to be one of the rare ones.
The anger comes from the fact that it was so poorly handled that even the earliest birds didn’t have any greater chance than the late comers. That is lame, and is totally worthy of being upset over. I’ve never, ever had an item in my cart on any store anywhere online that I couldn’t buy and the concept of that is mindboggling. It’s like WalMart taking the tv from you at the checkout lane to give to someone else.
Also, buying a box or a bag that’s available for sale isn’t greedy. I won’t buy that for a second. Getting multiples just for a chance at a bigger prize…that is.
