$200 BST Transcation Box deliverd EMPTY | what do i do?

Hi, until seller respond to my message (offline since 28 of last month) I will refrain from calling out the person that made this sale directly until more information to be nice to them

No reply to my message. The seller is @Stanleybrando

I spend $200 on Freehand Titanium. I receive an empty box with nothing inside and it was very apparent minimal care was taken to seal the box it ship in

I get notification it is at post office today, I go to pick it up…

Immedietly when I pick up box I can tell it is empty. I shake around, nothing in there

When I get to my car in parking lot I look at the box, It was taped shut very badly, not secure at all, one piece of tape on either side, the seam barely go over the edge by less than 1 inch (you will see in photograph later on post)…

One one side of the box, the poorly stuck piece of tape has obviously broke open.

I open when I get home after taking a few more photograph
BOX IS EMPTY !!!

Both side of box look like a blind person tape it shut. And obviously this cause it to fall out or something. Also, this is a HUGE AND FLIMSY box for 1 yoyo, it is paper thin (you can see how bent it get just from shipment), and it is quite literally 2.5-3x larger than any box I have ever got a yoyo in. 1 feet wide. very large box for a small heavy yoyo box to bounce around and break through the awful tape job. the bubble wrap doesn’t fill box even 1/2

Here is photograph of the in-tact taped side that didn’t break open (both sides of box barely have 1 strip of tape to keep it shut)

You can see here on the intact side above photograph, that barely any care was take to make sure this package secure. they didn’t even stick the tape down all the way and leave it mangled, AND THIS IS FOR THE SIDE THAT DIDNT EVEN BREAK OPEN! the side that break open is 10x worse!

As for the side that very obviously broken open, you can see here that the tape barely even go over the edge by 1/2 inch, keep in mind with this photograph, that this box is a whole 1 feet long for scale referebce

Another weird thing about this transactions …since I ship so many package I have a very good commercial relationship with USPS and get ship label very cheap, so I offer to buy the shipment label for him though my account. He give me the dimensions 8" x 6" x 6" for the box, but it arrive in 11" x 7.5" x 5.5" box ??? why lie?

If someone with little trade feedback say my package came empty to delivery to them, I would instantly assume they are trying to scam me, but as many of you know I am a high contributor to the yoyo community have have done well over 50 transaction on yye forum with 100% flawless feedbacks. people love every part of transacting with me in the yoyo community. I own hundreds of yoyo with a collection totaling the tens of thousand… I think almost every frequent user on this yye forum know that I am a great community memeber

I would never ship a package with 1 piece of tape on each side barely covering the edge of a massive box. wtf?!?!?!

Outside of yoyo, I own some e-commerce company and have ship over 10,000 package in my career, and received hundreds of package. I have never seen a package with such little care to seal EVER EVER

I was fully scammed before by @christian789 and I was 1/100th as angry as I am right now

WHAT THE F DO I DO ABOUT THIS?!?!?!!?

You paid via PayPal goods and services, right?

Absolutely crazy to ship anything with that poor a preparation, let alone a small expensive YoYo, that is a ridiculous. I question if this person is even capable of tying a slip knot, how did they manage to come into ownership of such an expensive YoYo in the first place?!

That really sucks, KK.

I’ve never had a transaction with you myself, but I wouldn’t doubt for a minute that it would be a pleasure, so I for sure believe you.

Maybe if you contact usps, the basic shipping insurance will cover part of it? Even tho that’s clearly not even their fault.

Yes, I will use G&S and get the money back if he do not reply or disagree to help… hopefully they are nice to me for some case like this.

I am not doing anything of the kind. He can attempt to do that to get his money back after he pay me back my $200. USPS did not lose the yoyo, he did.

Either he give the money or Paypal give the money, I purchase a product and I do not receive it. I will put no more effort into this other than to receive refund payment lol! this is not my job!

Yeah, don’t put any effort into this. Go get your money back right away via PayPal claim such that there’s also a record of this “seller” with PayPal.

The packaging itself is a HUGE red flag. You seem to be assuming that it even had a yoyo in it to begin with, which I suspect was never the case. I have the Freehand Ti with its wooden box. No one in their right mind would ship that in a way in which it will be shifting around during transit.

We have seen so many scams where multiple buyers hope to resolve the issue quietly over a period of weeks but in doing so allow others to fall prey to the seller’s scam. If you can’t name the seller, at least post in the person’s WTS thread that there is a problem with the item not being received and that you’d appreciate a reply to your PM. At least then other buyers know to exercise due caution.

I agree. Most especially as there was a Ti Freehand among the scammed items. I wonder @kawaii.kaede did this TiFH that you bought have custom ano on it?

That thought had come to mind as well

I’m surprised USPS even accepted this box!!!

I am not sure, I do not know much about Freehand Titanium… I think the one I buy was supposed to be raw with gold cap!

Thankyou so much for the information @tropical_vibes … I didn’t even know that the yoyo come in a big heavy wooden box… this makes the whole situation even weirder

Still no reply from the seller… So here everyone goes.

It is @Stanleybrando

Yeah that’s not the missing TiFHZ from the PiF that @Snorlaxative420 and @Cupcakesryummy have

@kawaii.kaede that users post history indicates he sold that Ti FHZ in ‘22? Just an assumption from him editing the post as sold and updating the listing. It’s the same pics.

You can tap the broken picture links and open them up to see them when viewing the edit history

The listing is still here

Wow… You are so amazing to find this @SlowThrow. Impression is that it sold in 2022

While he was still active, he also had a clean feedback thread

A lot can happen in 4 years though :man_shrugging:

yes, I dig this up before I pay for his yoyo, but it was strange to me to see only 1 month of BST feedback from so many years ago - this is why I send G&S

To be clear, the wood is kind of cheap, so it’s not THAT heavy. Just weighed mine – the entire set is 187g. I just meant that it’s very clearly not something you’d want tossed around; there would be risk of damage or even the top of the wooden box sliding off.

I took all your advise, and I dispute in Paypal and sent them all the evidence… I hope they are helpful in situations like this.

He have already seen the paypal dispute and he escilated it to a “claim” (means he also provided paypal evidence)

He still hasn’t bothered to log into YYE and check his message despite replying to my dispute offline since sep 28

I think that is weird =

So….kaede, he is making a claim that the item was lost in transit, so he cannot be liable for the loss?

Not sure if I got this correctly?

But if so, recognize that PayPal handles hundreds of claims every month. They have extensive knowledge regarding legitimate claims vs fraudulent claims.

The reality of this is simple> those images of probably the WORST boxing and taping job anybody has ever seen, makes it quite Clear that the sender is fully Responsible for this Mess.

That being said, those images certainly also make the Post Office look like Lazy Idiots. When that package was put on the counter, the postal employee on the other side of the counter, should’ve immediately told the sender that the package was not in suitable condition and suitably secured to accept for shipping. Even though they can’t be found guilty of anything but being lazy and stupid, it still supports your case against the sender.

That was very sharp on your part to make the decision to go with goods and services. I remember it was just a few months ago in another thread. You seem somewhat proud to say that you have had about 50 transactions and use friends and family all the time because unless you know better you just trust people. The fact that you weren’t too sure on this one I compliment you on going with goods and services.

Remember, that PayPal is a money moving, profit generating company. They make money on the fees they charge for moving money all over the world. The friends and family option is basically a perk for PayPal users that do want to move money among friends and family. People that use the friends and family option when dealing with people that aren’t their actual friends or family, are abusing their PayPal privilege.

The company clearly has a page that specifies the rules, regulations and conditions of being allowed to use their services. They are not a nonprofit organization. People cannot justify using the friends and family option because they feel that PayPal already makes enough money. They feel that they use PayPal enough That they should be able to save a couple bucks by skirting the system and letting PayPal work for them for free.

Regardless of that view within a view, you were very smart to choose goods and services.

And if whoever reviews your claim, and also reviews, his claim has a brain in their head, there is only one result in this particular instance. That you get a full refund. They honestly have no other option. Just those images show where the problem started. Remember… Problem always start at the beginning. It’s a cause-and-effect thing. Someone causes a problem. The effect is nothing good.

Because the box was empty when you received it and by the horrible non-secure look of the taping, it’s hard to distinguish evaluate or conclude that there was ever anything in the box? Then the burden of proof is on the sender. And those images don don’t support anything other than the fact that the sender screwed up big time.

They should be able to resolve this in a week or less. There are not a whole lot of considerations that have to be processed for PayPal to come up with the proper conclusion.

I would tell you at this time good luck with your claim. But that would be kind of silly. Since you shouldn’t need any luck with what’s very obvious. The purchaser paid. The sender made no attempt to complete their end of the deal effectively.

Please post up again when you get your refund.

thankyou for these kind words mr yoyodoc

to regard this,
I think I have a sixth sense for G&S… the only two times I’ve sent G&S I have been scammed :exploding_head:

I hope they do the refund, most of the file I upload as evidence was screenshot of our conversation and then 3 photo of the box how it came… I’ll try to attach the rest of the file
