The correlation is clear, using GS causes you to get scammed
I kind of thought this listing was a little fishy as its supposably a 20th anniversary edition, however there are UN plastic caps in the box, the Unknowns retailed for $400, as the other editions retailed for $300, so those caps were at a premium which was a bit of a stir at the time these released. Still one of my favorite throws of all time.
The regular edition and 20th had these plastic caps in the box. And if you bought an Unknown @bjardin would have sent you some of these plastic Ti Caps with a proof of purchase.
update
@Stanleybrando is trying very hard to fight my Paypal claim and have provided Paypal with information for this case dispute multiple times. He still have not logged into YYE to talk to me about this, but has sent Paypal evidence for case 3 different times
Also,
My email sending service tracks if email has been opened, he has not opened 1 of the many email I have send to his email address.
The seller is likely providing the tracking number to PayPal as proof of shipping. Unfortunately, this tracking number will also show a delivery to your address. If you have further proof of a scam - like the fishy pictures - I would let PayPal know. Any additional information that indicates a fraud will help PayPal identify the culprit here. Otherwise, PayPal may be caught in a ‘he said, she said’ situation.
I wonder if return to sender / refusing delivery does anything in these matters.
I have heard of people playing this scam on eBay with overseas deliveries. Because of the lack of chain-of-responsibility, it is difficult to determine whether an empty box was sent, or the box was tampered with (customs often will open and reseal boxes), or the person receiving the item is making a false claim.
People suck.
UPDATE:
Paypal is asking me to go to a police station, make a police report about @Stanleybrando (who has still not messaged me, opened my email, logged into YYE, or give me any communication since he ship the package 2+ weeks ago), and upload the police report to the PayPal dispute to get my money back ![]()
What a pain, f*** you @stanleybrando! This have taken so many hours of my life! the money is worthless lol!
last time this happened to me I just went straight to my bank (paid with my credit card) and submitted screenshots of me attempting to contact @chrisypoo for a month with no dice, and then they reverted the transaction without much hassle
would highly recommend.. never interfacing ever with paypal support as in my experience they’re just useless
though in my case the scammer never shipped the yoyo so they didn’t have much if any proof to provide, so your mileage may vary
i pay with paypal balance :\
I sell many yoyo and the result have this pool of money in a yoyo-only Paypal I use to buy and sell yoyos with (so I don’t accidentally spend my real money on my hobby lol)
I go to police station I guess and do what PayPal is saying to do. so annoying and waste of police resources lol
I mean mail fraud is federal prison time if actually convicted but I very much doubt the police will do anything with such a report sadly so your right just spinning wheels at this point
May torrents of glitter pour forth from this jerk’s mailbox for the rest of his days!![]()
All we can do is hope that Karma does its thing… and I guess… PayPal?
I have never heard of PayPal asking anyone to file a police report as condition of releasing your money. That sounds really sketchy. You paid them GS charges for this protection. It sounds to me that they are holding our refund hostage until you make a police report. I wonder what the police would make of this?
I guess that fee is for the privilege of being expected to do all this because someone defrauded you.
I certainly would love to share with my local PD what I’m buying on the internet from strangers.
Yes, officer, I paid $200 for a YoYo.
No, officer, I am not crazy
Yes, officer, promise this actually happened
Etc etc
That’s super strange that PayPal is asking you to do that, that’s not normal practice whatsoever. I would escalate and fight that request if possible.
“He said, she said” situation. A police report would help add weight to her side, so why not other than the hassle.
Personally, I would definitely file … as it currently stands, the worst that happens from the perspective of the seller is that the money he received is taken from him. It just goes back to status quo with no penalty. I suspect this is why certain seller continue to create new accounts to cheat buyers on BST — no real repercussions.
Cases like this, I don’t see why the buyer wouldn’t file a police report to get this onto the seller’s record.
“…or government organization”
Looks like you could file a case with the USPS for missing item or fraud. It appears this would satisfy PayPal.
Also, if you look at the shipping label - is the weight noted? That might bolster a case that an empty box was sent. Best of luck.
ill call them today and see if USPS also work
weight was on the package. I bought the shipping label for him, so he give me the weight and dimensions of the package and I created the label and send to him to print and put on the package.
But like I say in that post , the box he send me was double the size he give me for the label creation, so idk
maybe USPS weigh the package when they receive it so ill see today
thankyou to everyone helping me with this! It’s a funny situation
I’ll be dropping off a package at USPS in a couple hours, I’ll ask if they verify the weight and if they tend to do anything if it’s underweight
