I have to say out of all the yo-yos that I’ve bought from the Sprout to the featherspin the brass perpendicular by motion yo-yo I don’t know what it is about this. Zgrt libero that hands down is my favorite and the funny thing is I got it here on the forums for basically $25.
It has the smallest amount of fingernail vibe and it’s almost unnoticeable but out of all the money I’ve spent so far on yo-yos this zgrt is literally my favorite. I could have just bought this and saved all that money. To be honest with you, I’ve been a little bit tempted to sell a couple of my yo-yos and get another yo-yo in this style
I would not mind getting my hands on a black hole regular, just not the mini. I’m actually enjoying the larger style stuff. I don’t mind undersized but personally I’m kind of liking a little bit larger stuff now
If you’re delving in to the world of regular sized throws I’ll always recommend basically anything W1LD makes. I have 15 of their yoyos and not a single one has a trace of vibe. All glass smooth. They’re just complete bangers.

The Wilderness 7075 is praised on a regular basis for being extremely enjoyable while staying budget friendly and I’m sure it’s fantastic. I just haven’t bought one yet lol.
The Wildify is the SS rim version of it and it’s my fave so I’m sure the wilderness is great

It looks really nice but I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t want to spend no more $100 $110 yo-yos. I’m looking for deals now. I spent quite a bit of money in this last month and a half on everything that I bought. You know the Sprout was 108, perpendicular 110 and so on now that I see that I don’t have to spend a lot to get a good yo-yo like this zgrt libero I pretty much paid nothing for it and it’s fantastic.
I kind of want to find more deals especially in this size. This is like a VH shape and I really like the way it feels so I’m going to scour the forums or whatever and see what I can find.
As for my undersized that I have now, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them yet my featherspin ptarmigan I don’t really use you know. Maybe I throw it up for trade. See if anybody wants to trade something for it. I might even be down to trade the red and brass ring motion yo-yo perpendicular for something bigger.
Yes I like it a lot. To be honest with you, it has a little bit of fingernail vibe but it’s barely noticeable. I don’t even notice it. To be honest with you. I just love the way it feels in my hands. I like the way that it throws. I just really enjoy it
Don’t get in to MFD then. They sell out instantly and the second hand market is insane.
Plus, complete personal opinion, none of their shapes look appealing at all. Their ano is great but I haven’t seen a single yoyo that I think I’d enjoy
Yoyofriends Shortcut is very good, and only $34. Yoyofriends Ease is a little bigger, a bit more organic in shape, and made of 7075 for $40. Also, I know you don’t want to spend too much, but I highly recommend the OD/CLYW Summit 2 . I have a fairly large collection that includes a lot of really great yoyos, and the Summit 2 immediately became my new daily driver. I take a break to throw something else once in a while, but I can’t keep it out of my hand. It performs very well, the shape is very comfortable, and if you don’t have a pyramatte 6061 yoyo, you should consider getting one. It has a frosty look and feel that you really need to hold in your hand to appreciate.
Like you, I prefer a V/H shape, but after going down the rabbit hole and buying several hundred yoyos, I have come to a conclusion. How strong the “H” influence is doesn’t really seem to matter too much. Sometimes the “H” is very strong, like the Libero, or the Yoyofriends Helix (also available now for a reasonable $30), but sometimes it is a small feature that seems to do the same job. See that little bump by the response on the Ease? That’s an H. See the gentle concave curve in the wall of the Shortcut between the wing and the response area? That’s an H. Maybe people would disagree with me, but I notice a difference in the way they play when they have that influence.
Sorry for all the posts, but here are a couple more for you, if you want to go with a stronger “H” shape. These aren’t in stock, and I don’t know how available they are on the BST, but I love them both. The Libero is for reference. On the left is the ZGRT Qi, the first ZGRT i ever purchased. On the right is the YJ Yoyo Timeslip.
Also, Motion Centripetal. Probably a little more expensive if you can find one, but worth every penny. Beautiful detailing, comfortable to hold, but still very strong “H” shape.

If you want something a couple of millimeters wider, Magicyoyo V12 (on the left) is available for $25. Don’t let the price fool you. Also a bit wider than the Libero, the C3 Scintillator (on the right) is available for $45.
As far as I can tell, there really isn’t much difference in bearings. I have had cheap yoyos run problem free for a long time, and I have had expensive yoyos start screeching at me and become VERY responsive on the second or third throw. I believe that there is a varying amount of debris in most bearings from the manufacturing process. There are no real “yoyo bearings”. The only thing that makes it a yoyo bearing is the shape of the outer race. Otherwise they are manufactured the same as any other bearing, and I think most applications don’t have the same requirements as yoyo. I run a clean, dry bearing. I have tried lube every which way, and I just don’t think it helps. What helps is having an immaculately clean bearing. If there is ANY drag inside the bearing, it will become noisy and responsive. Even the smallest amount of drag is enough to get the outer race rotating. Watch this video: (the whole thing is great, but the important part starts at 5:35)
I have tried many cleaning processes, but here is what finally worked for me. First deshield your bearing and throw the shields and clips away. If you have trouble with the clips, use an Exacto knife with a BRAND NEW #11 blade. I know it sounds dangerous after fumbling around for hours and poking yourself with a straight pin, but it isn’t, because it catches the clip and pries it out so effortlessly, that you hardly have to put any force into it. I had many hours of frustration before I read this tip. I put the deshielded bearing in a small jar with a high purity isopropyl alcohol (people are also having good luck with Dawn dish soap, but I haven’t tried that yet.) and swish it around. I try not to shake it too much because I dont want to chew up the inside of the jar and create debris. Then I pull it out, scrub both sides with a circular motion using an electric toothbrush head (dip the brush in the alcohol before scrubbing each time), put it back in the jar, and swish it some more to rinse it. Then I pull it out, dry it with a tissue, and spin it on a steel chopstick until it is dry and spins freely (doesn’t take long with alcohol, that’s why I use it instead of Dawn & water). If it spins for at least 10 seconds when you give it a good flick, it is probably good to go. 15 or 20 seconds is better. Use a clock. You think you know how long 10 seconds is, but you don’t. If it won’t spin for a good 10 seconds repeat the process. Sometimes you put the clean bearing back in the yoyo, and after a few throws, it becomes noisy and responsive again. I think this is more debris working it’s way out. If you keep repeating this process, you will eventually wind up with a really clean bearing. Most of the bearings I have used this method with are now very quiet, and do not have to be cleaned very often. Again, I don’t notice a difference between brands or styles. NSK supposedly are machined to tighter tolerances, but tighter tolerances mean smaller gaps for debris to get stuck in. If you have a really stubborn bearing, put it on the chopstick, and roast it with a lighter. Then clean it again. Nothing dissolves polyester, and I think maybe string fragments are sometimes stuck in there. Do not do this unless the bearing has a metal cage (some have nylon). As for the Magicyoyo V12, it plays great! From my experience, the only real problem with Magicyoyo is that their bearing seats tend to be tight, so I have to use a bearing puller. Other than that, the performance is good and the finish is nice. It’s a little wide for my taste, though. Also, WTF is a “Topioneer”?
