just wondering if the yyf skyline would make a good first metal yoyo
I’m sure it’s a fine yoyo just think about this. Most “first metals” get a fair amount of dings. If your not the type to get mad over a scratch or two or twenty you should be fine. Just make sure you really look at the yoyo to. Ask yourself does this look like my kinda throw. Imagine throwing it, and if you feel like it’s the yoyo go for it.
Its fine but I would get some nubs w/ it (in case u get bored w/ hubs)
Just because it has hubstacks doesn’t mean you have to use them. I usually like to keep the stacks on all my yo-yos even when not in use because I like what it does for the weight and weight distribution. The Skyline especially is pretty light without stacks, but if you like light and speedy, that’s fine.
To answer the question though, if you’ve got the funding for it and you like what you see, there’s really no reason why it wouldn’t make a good first metal. It’s a really great throw overall.
If u can wait maybe the raptor gonna be good as first metal
Any Metal YYF or CLYW Yoyo is gonna be a Great First Metal Yoyo.
Although, for a First Metal Yoyo, I would Reccomend a YYF Genesis.
Any particular reason why? Just curious.
The Genesis is just a Really Nice and Unique Yoyo. When I tried one for the first time, I was surprised how good the Genesis was more then Any Other Yoyo iv tried. The Genesis is a True Player!
If you ask me i would not get a 125 dollar throw for my first metal. I would suggest a yomega dash or maverick. Just because they are 30 an ok player and once you get even better, you can silicone it and pull off some hard combos. Again, you want something cheap, how about a dv888? Huge gap, extremely wide and undersized. If i were you i would go with one of those 3 and not get a skyline
A Skyline is a very advanced yoyo in my opinion. For a first metal, especially YYF, I’d stick to the FundeMETAL line. DV888, Hectic, Lunatic, Chaotic, all great throws that aren’t too pricey and wouldn’t be terrible if dinged or scratched. Hspin also has the Core Series yoyos that play amazingly well for the price. Cody’s suggestion of a Genesis isn’t bad either, but I baby mine and would never let it get dinged.
what do you mean by advanced
Get a cheap metal… Like under $60…
Because you know what? You’ll feel sorry for your $100 yoyo. Because you will ding it, since it’s your first metal. Trust me, you will ding it. A LOT.
im not really worried about the dings i just want a really good throw im sure it wont be my last
I

im not really worried about the dings i just want a really good throw im sure it wont be my last
Just since the topic of dings is being brought up. Make sure you find a sheet or two of really high grit sandpaper. If you dinga metal, and I mean really ding it you’ll want to be able to smooth it out.
thanks i work at a cabinet shop so sandpapers not a problem plus i practice in a carpeted room so im hoping to keep the dings to a minimum
