Owning a yoyospirit modified throw is definitely on my bucket list!
Haha one day I’ll offload some. I’m too sentimental to give them up now.
No pressure!
@yoyospirit resurrected my broken xcon, its awesome.
How’d he pull that one off?
I got lucky. He was looking for old yyj rims to mod in the forum , and i told him about mine but i didn’t want to sell it, i wanted to fix it. the plastic was destroyed, but the rims were still good. He offered to fix it for what i consider a fair price for difficult custom work. I shipped it to him and when it was ready, he shipped it back to me.
Is the body custom?
Yes, he turned the halves out of delrin and put in cabal guts.
Sounds like a sweet throw!
The MG you have was powder coated by yoyospirit!
Really? well, yoyospirit did a very good job!
Yep. Two dreams achieved with one yoyo lol
Glad to see this is holding together strong!
Yeah so far so good! I don’t play it alot cuz its a gem, but I had eric koloski try it out at yoyo club a little after I got it and he was impressed too.
Here are some projects I’ve been up to. This one was meant to be Peak like in shape but was a little off. Fun to play with and came out pretty smooth.
Weight: 64g
Diameter: 54.5mm
Width: 42mm
For this one I wanted to see how slim I could make a yo-yo.
Diameter: 53mm
Width: 23mm
Weight: 52 grams
Actually had no clue how this would turn out from start to finish. Pretty happy with the results, super fun to play with, especially responsive with a half bearing.
Diameter: 55.5 mm
Width: 27mm
Weight: 52grams
Have you made any videos of your process making yo-yos? I’m curious about what machines you use and how.
I have thought about filming it but the process is pretty long and I suck at editing videos. I just use a Central Machinery Mini Lathe.
How do you mount the delrin on the lathe? Do you use a chuck?
