Much closer on this attempt. Plays smooth so happy with the outcome.

Yep! My lathe has a self centering 3 jaw chuck that works pretty well. I’ll have to take more pics of the overall process.

are those cabal guts you have been using?

Yea, I source them from One Drop for $10 a pair. They’re the best axle system imo for the job.

i assume you contact one drop directly?

Yea I usually just shoot them a message on Facebook asking for so and so many pairs and then 5 mins later I get the invoice to my email lol. Quick and efficient. I appreciate that they make them available for us modders.

I wonder if freshly dirty stem kits would be harder to use for this kind of project

Yea I’m not sure, I’d like to give them a try and see. My one criticism for the One Drop spacers is that they use thicker pads and not standardized pads. If they used thinner pads then the spacer itself could be thinner, letting me shave off a tad more center weight from the yo-yos.

Got this @caribou_lodge PeakHand on the BST and it came with some considerable vibe. Not a big deal since I’ve been wanting to try modding one to accept a large bearing for a while.

I have a few pairs of these spacers lying around that are made from Buzzon SPRs. I decided to keep the fit pretty loose, with the intention of having the pad hold the spacer in place, this way I could easily remove the spacer if necessary.

End product came out with pretty much no vibe so pretty happy with the result. While I like the small bearing PeakHand, I am finding myself preferring this one.
