YoyoExpert Forum Yo-Yo Manufacturer Awards! (Results)

Welcome to The YoyoExpert Forum Yo-Yo Manufacturer Awards:

Read before you post!

This is the first awards thread, so it’s not just for 2013 stuff…it is for “overall.” There are only 13 categories for nominations. One yo-yo company per category. If it’s a tie…you have to pick one, because if you don‘t, I‘ll pick the first one that you mention, to create the tally.

At the end, I’ll tally them up, if the thread isn’t too much of a mess by that time. Only nominate companies that make yo-yos, as in design/manufacture (or have them manufactured) for sale. Failure to do so, results in no credit for the answer. Do not mention another yo-yo store in this thread, as your entire post will be deleted.

Top votes out of 41 voters:

  1. Best overall yo-yo performance: One Drop, 11 votes

Try not to influence other voters, but you can explain your vote as to your “opinion.” I’ll do the tally at the end of 7 days.

I should specify that accessories applies to Yo-Yo Companies, companies that release yo-yos, that also released accessories. This is not for all companies…just companies that make yo-yos. Edit when you have time DrAwesome  Nice votes guys, thanks for being honest.

Thanks my friend. You may update your votes within the next week, if you think of what company you’d like to nominate for a particular category that is left blank. So, you have time to think on this one. Thanks for your votes. Oh…I noticed the “colour” edit too… ;D

Hahaha! Incredibly well observed! I was feeling patriotic and the little red wiggly line underneath was bothering me. =P

Cool post I like reading these.

I was going to fill one out but I felt bad putting G Squared on there a few times

By all means you get to vote. I think it means more that you vote for yourself when you think you should…and also vote for your peers and give credit where credit is due to them. As a player, and someone who makes yo-yos…your vote does count. We all get one vote, and…so do you. I wish all manufacturers participated on the forum to some degree. Credit to you for that. I’d appreciate honest votes from you, many others would as well.

Bear in mind, that many of these votes are cast based on people who have never tried other company’s throws, so they are just voting based on what they have tried so far. I hope it helps reading these, and I hope people will be positive and most of all…honest.

My votes:

  1. Best overall yo-yo performance:

  2. Smoothness: Tie, Many yoyos are perfectly smooth if hand tested before shipment. (G Squared, General up, Oxy)

  3. Best color ways: Old Square
    wheels

  4. Best New Company Award (3 releases or less): G Squared unless AL7 counts as a separate release.

  5. Best Marketing and Promotion: Duncan (Disney stuff is huge)

  6. Best Packaging and Graphic Design: YYR Packaging. Graphics Jason W.

  7. Best Accessories Award: Duncan

  8. Best Customer Service: G Squared

  9. Best Quality Control: G2, General Yo, OD

  10. Best at Consistency, Meeting Customer Expectations: G2, General Yo

  11. Fan Favorite Award: CLYW

  12. Best Team Award: CLYW

*13. Legend Award: SPYY

Only one company can get a vote for a category to simplify things, so I’ll have to take the first company you named when I do the tally.

I think I confused people with the accessories category. It’s only for a company that makes yo-yos, which also makes bags, yo-yo holders, multitools and so on. This is just a yo-yo manufacturer awards basically. It’s not for string companies, holder companies, yo-yo stores and so on. I did not want to make things too broad.

G2 qualifies for new company, as I do not see the A7 as a separate model really.

Cool. Ill update.

No problem. I modified my post. G2 qualifies for new manufacturer votes.

Great fun though and good food for thought
