Yoyo Tarnish?

Have a nickel Dingo and it seems pretty tarnished, want a nice shine, so what brand or type of polish should I use to clean/shine them up a bit?

I’m no expert, but from what I hear, any polisher from your local auto parts store will work. Please correct me if I’m wrong

NEVR-DULL works nice.
Available at most hardware and auto parts stores.

Just so you know nickel plating will start to tarnish as soon as you touch it. Not that you can see but if you touch one spot and not touch it you will probably see the difference the next day. Never dull as JHB stated is perfect though.

Thanks Icthus for the extra info, luckily I don’t mind the tarnish too much, but my baby cousin is excited about what I know of yoyo’in and his birthday is in about a week, so I thought I would shine up the dingo for entertaining him and his other little buddies, figured it might be better to have a bit of shine rather than none at all. Lucky me, I have some never dull around the house still too, found it in the garage.

This is what One Drop recommends for polishing nickel. Please be aware, if your original nickel finish was not bright and shiny, more of a matte finish (if it was pyramatte tumbled or soda blasted before the plating) the below polish will cause the surface to become smoother and more shiny that it was originally. This polish is generally available at most auto parts stores.

I’ve used neverdull and mothers and get the same results. I’ve been around plating all my life and trust me when I say that neither of those polishes will do any harm to the plating. I do like the mothers results but I prefer the ease of neverdull. No need in getting any of your own rags filthy.
