Yoyo on the Belt: Pouches, Holsters, Cases

Let’s talk about belt bags!

I like to always have a yoyo with me. But in summer, without a jacket or bag, it’s not always easy. Some Yoyos don’t fit in your pocket — or it just feels awkward.

That’s why I like to carry it on the belt.

But those loops with carabiners are not for me. The yoyo swings around too much and feels impractical in daily life.

Even the Magicyoyo case I got today (out of curiosity) is made to dangle — same issue.

I’m really glad I still have my old belt pouch with a sticky strap. It sits tight, doesn’t swing around, and just works great.

Honestly, every yoyo store should sell something like that, but I think there’s nothing like it anymore, right?

How do you carry your yoyo on the belt? Do you have any cool belt pouches to show off?

I don’t like a lot of weight hanging off me, so I carry small and light throws usually. If it’s not in my pocket, I have an old school leather Tom Kuhn clip-on that’s AWESOME, and still holding up well!

Doesn’t help for current availability, but if you ever see one on the auction sites, it fits an RBC (or Plasm) beautifully.

i made a few paracord holsters that clip on where it cinches instead of on the slack so it doesn’t dangle too much. i use plastic carabiners to avoid damaging the yoyo if the two clink against each other. i usually carry them on my bag but will clip onto my belt loop if i’m not carrying a bag

Belt adjacent I’ll also carry a pouch or Fanny pack/ bum bag around if I need to carry a bit more or am out all day

Still want to get an unknown essentials bag and a blue ridge overland gear bum bag at some point.

Wish I knew what happened to my old Yomega pouch, that’s most likely where my old fireball or saber Raider are hiding…

I should get another some time, tho, as much as I love my home made bloop.

Just long enough to perfect snug into my back pocket, and i don’t notice it when I sit.

haha, actually i just put it in there for a photo, i never use this holster, too much dangle

the turquoise spintastic holster looks super dope

@Son-of-Morris yeah, the Tom Kuhn one looks really stylisch, but its for thin yoyos only, right? Would a Wizard fit in there?

I found this one on Ebay, i don`t want to spend the money right now, but it looks like what i need

( i mean i have my green belt bag, but it looks a bit dirty and will not last forever, so i will get a second one sooner or later)

I was just checking, and I can actually jam a Wizard in there, but it definitely does not want to be in there, haha. The TK pouch does open up a bit further than just slimline though. About the biggest I feel I can get in there comfortably before absolutely pushing the envelope is a Top Deck (55.4mm x 44.5mm), more-so the width than the height, which was still actually surprising to me, lol.

Thank you for the info and for checking it out!

I designed this for the flying lemon originally but find it works well for other yo-yos too. Turn a yoyo into a cute handbag charm.

I like the idea of holsters, but in real life when I’m in a hurry to stuff my pockets before going out I just go cargo shorts for summer, jacket with inside pocket for winter

Sometimes I’ll go into yoyo club with all my pouches and holsters on my bumbag strap. Then it’s a bandalore bandolier

This is from a Fireball, Brain, and DVD bundle, circa 2006. If I hadn’t found them in my closet last year, I would not be on this forum.

Usually, though, I just carry around a slim responsive that fits in my pocket.
