How does the Yoyo Contests work? Is it where the winner advances from Local → Regional → National → World? Or is it where everyone can participate in all the contests? I was wondering because it doesn’t say of any requirements on the World Yoyo Contest Webpage. (Of course, I won’t enter or anything, but I’m jsut wondering! 
The winners do ‘‘advance’’ in that they can skip the prelim rounds as seeded players at larger contests if they win certain smaller ones. However it seems that for most contests everyone can participate in the prelims

Any one can compete at worlds. continental champions seed to finals, national champ start at semifinals, top 10 in a country start in prelims, and everyone else starts in the wild card round.
