@rkalajian I know you will probably hate me… But what do you think about Nectars for the next production run of Workhorses?
You should try some of @AudreySickburn 3D printed pads….
That’s what I’m using now. I just can’t get them to work with the dry bearing and I love the way it sounds like it’s ripping through the air with a dry bearing in it. I can’t help it.
I’m actually thinking about trying one of each type of pad and see if that works.
Which Yoyo is this with the dry bearing?
Also since sending out my first run of pads I’ve progressed in softness from shore 95a to my standard pads being 83a and being able to go as soft as 70a. The softer the pads the more grip. I could send you an assortment of the freshest varieties to try.
No worries! I’m down.
The Turbo Grind Machine. They work great with a lubed bearing so I don’t want to make it seem like I’m saying they don’t work at all.
The last ones I got, you had made thicker but I’m not sure what they were made of. I could get a pic when I get home.
Ahh I can’t exactly test that one myself because I won’t give YYF my money.
My printed pads anymore are all various grades of TPU rubber. The ones I sent you would have been 95a which is on the firmer end. I only know that because it’s only recently I’ve been able to tune my printer to be able to handle the extremely challenging softer rubbers.
if you dm me your address to confirm it I’ll mail you some more pads in the softer varieties.
Try to find a Spinworthy Metal Harbinger. It is still, by far, the best full responsive metal yoyo I’ve played. Everything about it is perfect IMO.
While it has a bearing, it plays like a fixed axle.
Also, I always recommend finding the CoreCo Alleycat’s, the OG and 650b, which to me are still the best metal semi-responsive yoyos that have been made.
Sometimes I think its only you I with this opinion. I try to convince people this is my best bearing responsive, but people still prefer the RBC and Plasm.
Haven’t tried the plasm, but can’t agree that the RBC > Metal Harbinger.
Most definitely.
I managed to snag one a couple weeks ago, and it’s fantastic. I agree, it’s the best metal responsive I’ve had the opportunity to throw. So good that I’d love to get a second one, preferably in the low HP colorway.
I’ve only had it a couple weeks, but the metal Harbinger is my favorite metal responsive, too. And I’ve spoken with one of your biggest collectors, and they also agree (though I think they prefer your hand turned wood/plastic fixies over metal throws).
I like how the rbc feels in the hand more but yes play wise the harbinger plays better. The plasm hits a best if both worlds in my opinion being a good player while having that rounded shape and feel
I love them all 3 but it’s true they play different. I play a more 1a style and I just love the way RBC and Plasm play in this way but the Harbinger does lean decidedly more into the fixie style of response and I love it most for that, its just that I don’t play that style very often.
I think @Xanadu did a fantastic job explaining why the harbinger is generally better for 0A. Some prefer the RBC or plasm due to the comfortable feel in hand. Performance wise, I definitely favor the harbinger.
Harbinger! I’ve been working on this playlist so no-one can deny
I notice you throwing that Harbinger almost exclusively in your videos.
One more aspect not really talked about is how good the Harbinger looks on film.
I’m not a huge fan of painted yoyos and wood isn’t as fancy in video as it is in photos.
Plasm is a pretty close second, but doesn’t feel as premium. And now that I’m used to talon grinds, I think they’re more versatile than using dimples.
Dead’Orse PiF arrived today with all the extra goodies inside. Excited to play the ‘Orse again.
When it’s time to send these along I’ll pack some Nectars and Honeys in with them.
