Anything in particular you’re interested in?

Honestly? Not really. Most wooden fixies I’ve played have been a blast

Hey, all! I’ve got a 5pk of Catalyst strings (Blue Hydrogen) that I accidentally DIDN’T make Lefty for a customer. I’m willing to let it go for $8, and will just stuff them in a envelope with a stamp, so no need to worry about shipping.

My wife and I are heading home from my daughter’s house with our GRANDBABY!!! We get to keep him till maybe Thursday. So excited. He is so chatty with his little gobble-de-gook language. He is so darn clever.

I’ve been spending a little time away from yo-yos to give attention to another hobby I haven’t enjoyed for some time now. I’ve been upgrading some of my fishing gear. I’ve been tearing them completely down and cleaning and relubing them. Believe it or not, I actually demand lube in my reel bearings…:rofl: I used to keep up with all the parts in my head… I quickly found out that doesn’t work anymore as I disassembled and reassembled the first reel 11-13 times continuing to leave something out here… put something in the wrong place there. Needless to say, when I started that second reel I was laying things out in the order they came out it’s been good mental exercise.

There is the most amazing place to fish 4 miles from my house. And I’m taking advantage. Trying to get out a little more at least. Anyways just a quick tale of my current goings on. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Congrats, what a fun time! And that reminds me of a story my dad told me when he was in a Bluegrass band and their banjo player drunkenly took his banjo entirely apart one evening and they had leftover pieces when they put it back together. Never did figure out what they went to but said it didn’t play any different so they stopped worrying about it, haha.

@Woody Welcome to the Club. And welcome back to the wonderful world of yoyos.

While we have to adult sometimes, we are all children at heart that still play with round spinning objects.

I agree. This child (myself) is getting tired of work politics and adulting, but we are all united under the string.

So some of you know both my wife’s and my car have died over the past few months. My wife leased a new Solterra back in Feb, and tonight I’m going to pick up a 2025 Outback, my first new car ever.

Sucks to have to had to replace both cars this year. It’s a real strain. We’ve had no car payments for 10+ years, and now we have 2.

It will be nice to know we’ll have cars that won’t die unexpectedly (hopefully!)

All I have to say is OUCH. But it’ll be nice to have a new car. I think. Probably.

I feel ya. Last year my captiva was trying real hard to die with electrical issues and kept me from doing certain things and this year the timing chain is giving me subtle hints it wants to send this heap to the junk yard soon. I’ll have to figure out how hard a job that’s gonna be sooner than later.

The wife’s van has also been a pain deciding to blow a strut and a control arm making me choose between a mortgage payment worth of labor or do it myself and I chose to learn to fix it myself. Then the cool system took a dump and I had to figure out fans, relays, radiator pump and fuses all on as low a budget as I could manage it on.

Aging cars suck but I can’t do car payments right now without stoping something for the kids like my daughters pre school or sons taekwondo stuff or some big ticket monthly budget item like that which I don’t have the heart to do if I can help it.

Life of parents in a single income trying to do right by their kids and not allow them to see the struggle if they dont have to.

The nice thing about new cars is they(should) have some warranty of some sort.
