hey, so i have a superstar and one day i started playing with it and it came up without me even binding, at first i thought it was dirty but wasn’t, then i washed it with water and nothing happened again, does anyone know what might’ve happened, i know i cleaned it good.
oh and it wasn’t the string either
Sorry, but washing with water does not clean it good.
that must be why it makes a whir sound, but what should i do???
Clean using mineral spirits, lighter fluid or acetone, then lightly lube(very VERY lightly).
Remove the shields before cleaning.

If cleaning bearings was as easy as running them under some water, I don’t think bearings would be as big of a problem as they are. Haha
