Yoyo Appraisal Thread

1st run Clareview Station BvM 2, 1 small scuff on the rim.

They retail for $110 guys…

but they aren’t leaving the shelves in minutes so they’ll probably sell even worse aftermarket.

BillyBob has several in stock for $65 new and can’t move them. Those estimates were very accurate.

Isn’t this the second time maddog has questioned the accuracy in this thread?

I’ve literally never heard of the brand or the yoyo and considering how much random stuff I buy/trade for and how much time I waste looking at what stores have in stock it’s probably not a good sign for the value of a yoyo if I know nothing about it.

There are a lot of YYFs that retail at $110-140 that are looking at $50-65 resale, up to $80 for the right yoyo to the right guy.

edit
I also see them just sitting in a store for $59.99. $35-40 is my generous appraisal. I doubt anyone actually wants one period but for that price someone might give it a whirl. Certainly wouldn’t expect it to sell very fast.

I also see that it’s a beefcaked A-bearing yoyo. Yeah, $35-40 is definitely generous. Obscure brand, peculiar/unpopular bearing setup and it uses a sticker for its “colorway” options. The only review I read for it states that it is a $60 retail yoyo as well, no clue where you’re getting $110. The shape looks decent but the colorways/stickers and beefcake turn me off (and I’m one of the few who love normal A-bearing throws), I honestly wouldn’t pay $20 shipped for it.

Well, just thought I would update everyone.
Apparently a code 1 mib can’t sell above $50, a nmib superwide can’t get more than $15, and a sigma blade is worthless.
What has gone wrong with the yoyo market?

For the most part people have already owned those yoyos or have decided they aren’t really interested in them. CLYWs hold value well for a variety of reasons but people just aren’t in a hurry to pick up random OD/YYF models…I wish that wasn’t the case since I have a number of both that I’d love to see sold myself.

Yea but I mean, I thought $65 a piece was WAY low, even with the CLYW dominance.

It’s because it’s not new and “cool” anymore. That’s why companies keep churning out new yoyos.

pink aqua proton? with a few scratches

My brother was able to pick up a black code 1 with pin pricks for $23 a couple months back off the BST

He bought his other one for $40 since he was building a 3A pair but you have to wait since there’s not a lot of people really after a code 1

Also when I was getting rid of my old yoyojams I was asking between $5 and $10

What do you guys think a clear blue Yeti is worth?

The translucent ones were protos from what I know and considering people have dropped up to $200 on normal ones I could see it fetching the same kind of price

What it’s realistically worth is a matter of opinion but what t would go for in the market is probably $100-$120. I haven’t seen anyone drop big bucks on a Yeti in a while sice now there are much more out there. Considering they are more rare I could see it going for what I said although I personally would never pay that much for one. It seems to be more a collectors piece.

Easily $100. $200 wouldn’t surprise me although I think it’s ridiculous. No CLYW price surprises me right now

Can anyone remember the price of a NIB Evil yo…YYE edition? I was thinking $130. :-\

I sold a mint without box black/red/grey/silver (I think that’s the YYE one?) Evil Yo for $115 shipped recently. To be honest I think I was pretty lucky to get that price, I think $100 for a mint one would be more typical.

It’s surprisingly become a cult favorite I’ve noticed
