It’s difficult to stay sober from new slimline responsives, but the Mowl Obsession+ has done a great job at keeping me from buying new unresponsives.
I try to space mine out by getting new ones as gifts. Since my birthday is in June, I try to get one every six months but sometimes if there’s something I really want, that doesn’t quite work out.
The last one was the Mowl Vigilancia I got for Hannukah and I’m pretty content with that and the rest of my collection at the moment. Nationals is like a week after my birthday this year so my plan is to wait until then and get something special there…
I keep saying “ok I don’t need a yoyo I have too many”, and then I see something that looks amazing and I just have to find a way to get it. I’m in one of my binges right now, but I’m sure these will hold me off until the next episode.
The CLYW Wish held me off for a good bit, I felt like I didn’t need any other yoyo until then. Then my girlfriend got an engraving on a yoyo, then I found a grail, then I got a trade, and the rest is history
See I’m hoping they announce the dates for the Rocky Mountain Regionals soon. If it is in Colorado it will be my first contest. I would love to see a bunch of the vendors. Will definitely buy stuff then.
Hello everyone, my handle is EZstreet and I’m a yoholic.
I suffer quite severely and often purchase multiple yo-yo’s at a time.
I know it’s not my fault, it’s a disease and it runs in my family. My dad and his brother were both yoholics. Though they managed to get sober. My dad was 12 and his brother, my uncle, 13.
The closest I’ve gotten to sobriety is with the MCMO. I was 29 at the time. It was the yo-yo that satisfied all my cravings, more than any other yoyo I had played before it.
It was the yo-yo I thought about all day at work, and the yo-yo I looked forward to coming home to.
It was agile, it was powerful, the pyramaate finish made me want to bind just so I could feel it again, even if only for a moment before my next throw.
The organic shape in 7075 Aluminium held ano so well. The 10 ball bearing was so smooth.
Yes! This MCMO would finally be the cure!!
(The side effects had me on a bit of side quest binge but, I didn’t count it as a flare up and continued maintaining my sobriety.)
I was feeling good about myself for the first time in a longtime with the MCMO….
That was a year ago and now I have 6 of them please help
+1 for SWxMK1 Harbinger. Just replaced my Black Mamba Steel as my go to responsive bearing throw (after 25 years!). The Steel is basically an off brand SB2. Any of these.
My main throw for 10ish years up until 6 months ago was the Werrd Pacquiao. Comes with a flat bearing which I loved for 1A, swapped out for a centre-trac for 5A or a wood blank for 0A. A true jack of all trades.
The dis-ease from Yoyo withdrawals is real. Even when I’m dead broke I will find a way to buy a new Yoyo that got released. And everytime I tell myself, okay after this one, I’ll be good. If I can just find a way to get this one then that’s all I need for awhile…………2 Days later…. Yeah u know the rest.
Hi, Ray here. I was doing good, I swear I was. I even posted about not having yoyo purchasing power any more, a familiar situation here on the forum. But I went and asked for YYE gift cards for Christmas, and my early January birthday. Then, I bought a yoyo for the first time in a long time (to me at least), and I was reminded of the excitement that an expected mail day brings, without spending any money. I forgot how joyous it is to open up a box that contains a yoyo of a design that exceeds your greatest expectations. I felt a burst of inspiration burst through my mind, body , and soul. I bought more yoyos of a type that I thought might amplify this feeling. Then I finally found the yoyo I’d been looking for since I started yoyoing 6 years ago, so I had to buy an extra. But my gift card money ran out, so I used PayPal credit since all my extra money is going to the oilman. And then this same yoyo came out in a titanium version, and I said if I’m gonna owe, I might as well owe. You know how it goes. So now here I am with the shakes real bad. I’m blame you, all you amazing yoyo designers. Please take a break for a while and let only the bad designers make crappy yoyos for a while. Then, I’ll finally be able to save enough money to buy some more yoyos in the future. Love, from Ray.

Hello My name is Grendel and I’m a yoyoholic.
I haven’t bought a new yo-yo in 243 days.
Trades don’t count.
Ah the BST… a seductive place indeed. A place to rekindle old memories of yo’s that got away, and a place to aquire yo’s that could have been but never were in the collection.
The BST are dangerous waters for us yoholics.
BST seems to be the next slippery slope. Since I haven’t felt the need to buyer anything, I am looking at my throws and really considering to downsize.
I also hear my inner Gollum saying they are all my “ Precious”
Yeah BST is a slippery slope. I had to take a break for awhile. Made some trades for the first time in about 6 months. Trying to decide if i want to pull the trigger on a mobile gamer. Anyone played one yet?
