There’s a small burr on the bearing seat, but it’s not in a spot that would be touching anything moving.
I can’t figure out why this throw is responsive. I’ve tried three or four bearings now (and cleaned them) wiped down the bearing seat area and threads with acetone, and replaced the axle. I’ve tried different strings.
The pads are not pronounced, but i haven’t replaced them. I could i guess.
One thing I’ve noticed is the axle is on one half and the bearing is on the other, and when i throw it for a bit and end up going back in, the bearing has swapped to the axle side. It doesn’t stay on one side, which makes me think it’s not well seated.
Can’t figure this out. I love the throw, I don’t want to just say screw it.
ive seen em switch like that a bunch in ones i don’t have any trouble with, so i don’t think that’s an issue. plus think about se throws, the bearing doesn’t actually firmly seat on either half. i was having trouble with one responding randomly recently and the only thing i could find was a sorta ding in one of the pads. it looked like a piece chipped out. i redid the silicone and haven’t had it happen since. just spitballing, but are ur pads smooth?
also have you tried putting thinner/nylon string on it if it isn’t already set up that way?
I’ve tried thinner string and the pads are smooth but i could replace em if needed. Funny you said that about the bearing not really seating firmly… i just tried it again and purposely didnt seat the bearing fully and it seems fine. For now. We shall see.
