I agree with Kadabrium up there. Acid wash doesn’t tend look as good on a reflective surface. That’s why the same colors tend to work well for CLYW yoyos that have blasted surfaces.
Actually I don’t think C3 anodizings is the problem why they don’t sell well. The reason is they don’t have a very good footing in the USA because they don’t really advertise over seas, or have any real team members active in the community in the united states.
Let’s take a pause and remember that the premise isn’t proven. Even the OP’s original topic doesn’t say that the yoyos sell poorly, just that they could sell “more”… But either way, a store having stock on an item isn’t proof that the item isn’t selling. There are such things as restocks, large orders, or yes-- unpopular colours (which doesn’t mean the entire line failed).
They don’t have a mega foothold in the U.S., but I think they’re doing well. People know who they are, and lots of us have had one or more in our collections. We’re aware of their releases and some of them indeed sell out in record times (or at least, the Krown.st and Berzerker SS had brisk sales).
Saying they don’t sell well is a stretch. A lot of companies would love to be in C3’s position.
They have a pretty big team of sponsored players as well, it seems to be one of the largest out there, so they must be doing fairly well for themselves to support all those players.
We stock a wide variety of C3 because they’re great yo-yos and they tend to sell just fine.
Personally I always thought C3 had some of the best uno out there. I like the muted sort of watercolor looking anodizing from them, it’s different enough from what everyone else is doing and gives them a signature look. I can also see why some people don’t like it though, not everyone’s cup o tea I guess.
I’m on a roll. Here’s another favorite.
