No nostaligia for me, I got into the hobby in 2016 when fast V bimetals seemed the hyped thing.
The main thing is catching comfort is nice to have.
Some tricks are also just nicer on organics, like rejections and slackicide.
I would say for me it matters more if rim is nice and rounded off, with few sharp edges-
rather than something that has a round profile with a a sharp ending point like the haymaker shown above.
Some say they arent performance oriented enough, but like most of you have dozens of yoyos…. just have a string on more than one at a time, pick up the V shaped bimetal when you want massive long combos and the comfy one when you are just doing your comfort zone tricks, at least that’s what I tend to do.
I don’t think it’s a taste that you will necessarily develop with time. A lot of people who really love organics started loving them when they were still quite new and inexperienced while I’ve been yo-yoing for some 16 years and do not care for organics in general (and I know plenty of others who are similar). I think if at this point you’ve tried some organics and they bounced off you then they’re prob just not your thing which is fine.
Personally, I just love the way they feel in my hand, both at rest and on return. Tbf, however, yoyos are more of a focal point for my needing to keep my hands busy than a, ya’know, trick-throwing toy for me.
Same reason why the RBC is my favorite design (also, as someone who just loves throwing loops and desires snappy responses, RBC is just )
