What kind of SpectrPly orientation do you prefer? The way I usually do it with layers parallel to the body, or the horizontal TMBR style.
The easiest to produce is definitely the TMBR style.
- Layers parallel (right)
- Layers horizontal (left)

2 put of 3 heads in my house say parallel. But everyone agrees that both are great choices.

Left seems to be what everyone does, to me it is more familiar. Right is more unique. I can’t say I like either better.
Just showed the pictures to my 15 year old, he said he likes the right one better.

It is a orientation that instantly signals it’s a SW spectra.

Hnnnnnngh making me choose Glen?!?! I’d say if it has dimples right is better but that sideways with the flat face looks soooo good.

I can always make horizontal ones with dimples.
Oh, by the way - the layers parallel produces smoother yoyos and won’t crack, like the other can.

Like the harbinger could crack because of the orientation? I’ve heard of that amongst Spectra damas too.
It would take a fair whack to do, but it is more susceptible, yes.

At this point I need a solid wood one! I like the right, the one on the left just doesn’t do it for me. It may be the color though I feel like with the striping the blue is too dominant

There are actually not many good spectraply coloir options.
I want to order custom panel of the rainbow spectrum, but I can’t unless I sell about 5 more of my yoyos.
That’s what I’m mostly concerned about. I want my spectra easily differentiated from TMBR Spectra.

Oh I get it for sure. I don’t mine the blue when it is done the other way just something about the tight striping with the blue just doesn’t have the visual appeal for me

I really dig both, both I what puts the left over the top for me is just how the face of the yoyo looks, I love seeing all the layers from that angle.

Yeah that’s a pretty nice one, but maybe not too eye popping? Not sure. The panels are insanely expensive for me to purchase so I want the brightest ones.
There’s one called ‘patriot’ that I think looks pretty good.
Oh I’m sure its not cheap so you have to go for eye popping and universal or else you just sit on a ton of material and wasted capital. I think the 2 you are doing now looks super nice, hence why I have one of each thankfully. How does the red and yellow look in the left orientation do you have any images of one that way?

Alas, I do not have that colour in that orientation. That colour I have in a panel which doesn’t allow it
Ugh! What are we going to do with you and not having and endless supply of material at your hands to meet our needs!? In all seriousness though I am more than impressed with the look of the spectraply in hand it is way nicer than what the pics show
